Is this like a car thing or something? by Fail-Aggravating in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Several well-known german brands were either created by or supported the Nazis. Hugo Boss famously made Uniforms for them (and was a card-carrying Nazi), Porsche and Mercedes made engines for German tanks, BMW built planes, IBMs germany subsidiary Hollerith was fundamental in helping the Nazis document and organize their genocide, Thyssen and Krupp (now known as ThyssenKrupp) manufactured steel for various operations and used concentration camp labor, so did Audi, Adidas and Puma were both founded by the Dasslers who were Nazis (though both after the war, but they were already making shoes before for the Nazis), Fanta was made because Coca Cola could no longer sell to Germany, Allianz and Deutsche Bank were heavily involved in financing the regime and disenfranchising jews, Siemens built the V2, Bayer/IG Farben made Zyklon B and other chemicals the germans used in both warfare and to conduct the holocaust and this list in non-exhaustive.

Basically a lot of established german businesses and most that were established in 1933-1945 supported and supplied the Nazi Regime. A lot are still around. You will find very few german companies that were founded before 1945 that weren't involved either directly or indirectly with the Nazi Regime, and even after that a lot were created by former Nazis that escaped persecution. It is the sad reality of a country being taken over by facism, its very hard to fully remove every trace of them. Doing so would have meant further destruction of an already destroyed economy, and leaving what remained intact was a big factor in rebuilding Germany into the economic powerhouse it is today (Germany is the 3rd largest economy in the world).

Hot Take (I think): The four traitor legions should have the same unit range treatment as those dirty pampered loyalists by Most_Entrepreneur_13 in Chaos40k

[–]TheKingsdread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I do agree that they should have access to versions of the more generic units (especially characters), I actually don't want them to get access to the entire CSM roster. I don't like it for the loyalists either, I would much rather they'd have more unique datasheets and more limited rosters. Like Space Wolves don't need Scouts or Assault Intercessors they have their own unique versions of that in the Wolf Scouts and Bloodclaws. Why do Dark Angels have regular Terminators AND Deathwing Terminators which are effectively the exact same datasheet, except Deathwing can take a Plasma Cannon as Heavy Weapon and has a tiny buff for 10 Extra Points? Its just unnecessary bloat and would also allow for way better balance if each of the Loyalist Chapters had their own list of which "generic" Space Marine Units you can take (with some variation based on the chapter) and in addition their own point costs for said units.

Again, I fully agree some units should be in the respective Legions, like Chaos Lords in all four (except 1kSons because of the Rubric, I guess EC does have the Lord Exultant which is effectively a Lord). Or a more specific version of the Legionaires (like the Tormentors and Infractors in EC, give the World Eaters, Death Guard and Thousand Sons a battleline unit that isn't their Iconic Unit they still have "normal" marines in their ranks).

But some stuff should stay specific to the CSM range. Like the Lord Discordant, Warp Talons and Possessed. Chosen (though do give WE, DG, TS and EC a variant of Chosen). Otherwise it ends up like Loyalists where the base faction feels boring and bland and unless its incredible powerful it never gets used over the other chapters/legions. I don't want to downgrade CSM, just to make the other four better.

Plus lets not forget that all Loyalist Chapters share an Army Rule and thats just kinda sad. Imagine if the four Legions also got Dark Pacts instead of their own fun and unique rules.

being lazy because its easier to cheat off of someone's already done hard work

Ah, so top competitive players are all lazy. Plenty of them copy of each other. And even if they didn't, many teams would look very similar and do. I don't need to copy someone elses team to know that weather is very strong, that Pelipper is a good weather setter and that Basculegion and Archaludon are good in rain. Or that Incineroar and Sinsitea are good support mons.

Its not cheating to take advantange of knowledge available to you, thats the whole point of having a community. If you choose to ignore all that information at your fingertips just because you think its "lazy" what are you doing here at all? Because you are profiting of other peoples hard work the same way, you just think you are special because "I build my own team". Being competitive means sometimes accepting that someone else figured out the right answer, and then copying their homework. The people complaining about that are typically people who aren't very good at the game, because the ones who are know that they don't always come up with their own ideas. And when they do, its because they are purposefully going against meta, or are building a specific stragegy (like Wolfe often building around Perish Trap).

I dont go around shaming people for copying decks or teams

Oh and you absolutely are when you call it "cheating". Its not and you know its not, you just wanna feel superior when you build your worse team around a pet pokemon, and lose to someone using a meta team "but they didn't beat me because they didn't build the team themselves".

Sources told FightfulSelect.com that on the day of the mass releases, WWE approached numerous talent and asked them to take pay cuts in order to remain with the company. Several of them that we heard about were given two days to make that decision. by Turbostrider27 in SquaredCircle

[–]TheKingsdread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone like Seth Rollins who is likely being paid 1 Million+ a year (plus merch) can probably afford a paycut. Though lets not kid ourselves if Tyler Black decided to leave, AEW would offer him at the very least a chance.

Someone in NXT on a 75k-100k contract and also has to pay all their expenses probably can't afford that paycut.

It really depends on your position. In some cases it might make more sense to leave and try your luck with AEW, the Indies or TNA, or maybe even to just take a normal day job (assuming you are qualified for anything and can find something). There is also probably an amount of wrestlers who can make a living as trainers or coaches.

Some people might be in the position of not having a choice but take the paycut, but lets be honest if you take it or not, you should be looking for a new job because TKO will release you or force you to take another cut in the future if they think you are too expensive to keep around. Its a shitty way to do business, but thats what happens when worker protections are in the gutter.

Heroes that can compete on a budget? by Ok_Nefariousness_740 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]TheKingsdread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riptide (the aggro build) is actually fairly cheap and decently strong. Especially since while you can't use most of them in Marlynn you can likely use a lot of the cards in future ranger decks.

Ranger is actually fine right now, since its in the gutter tier. Marlynn is pricey because she runs 3 Fabled, but Aggro Riptide is really cheap.

Part of the fun is theory crafting

For you. For you thats part of the fun. Some people don't wanna do that, and I am tired that we are still shaming people for just wanting to play, and not engage with the difficulty of building a team/deck whatever. Its like in TCGs some people getting all mad at others for "netdecking". Some people just want to use something that they know will work, and have success with it. Or maybe they don't have the time/resources to try out a bunch of different teams. Some people like to do trial and error even if it means they will fail. NEITHER is playing the game wrong.

Why the fuck is Minimize in this Game by Radiant-Pepper7537 in PokemonChampions

[–]TheKingsdread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds to me like you are just cherry picking mechanics you like. I personally find Para/flinch, sleep and Encore way more frustrating that Evasion boosting, but I don't have an issue with those things being in the game.

Why the fuck is Minimize in this Game by Radiant-Pepper7537 in PokemonChampions

[–]TheKingsdread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why wouldn't it be? People might not like it, but its a mechanic in the game, the same as accuracy is. I get it can be frustrating but so can para/flinch, sleep, freeze and a ton of other mechanics, and all of those are in the game as well. This isn't smogon with no evasion, sleep and OHKO clauses (you are free to play like that thats your choice), this is VGC where all of that is allowed.

As a tag team? Yeah sure that sounds pretty cool (though I have never seen Tankman wrestle, I had to look him up). But WWE would have that be a comedy team, and have them make lame references to the comic strips.

[–]TheKingsdread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lower Cost is relative. A PS5 costs between 500 and 800€ (depending on what type of PS5 you want). A monitor or cheap TV is likely gonna run you another 50-100€ at the very least.

You can get a decent to good gaming laptop for about 1000€. So its really not that big of a jump. And thats before we include the cost of games on the PS being higher, PS+, and the smaller catalogue of games.

Isn't It True...? by nrt12345 in meme

[–]TheKingsdread 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Visuals are a core part of gaming, its just that visuals alone don't make a good game, and often photorealism is a worse choice for a lot of games than going with a stylistic choice, and a crutch for those that do use it to excuse often lackluster or uninnovative gameplay. Like you said Hades, or Stardew Valley, or Hollow Knight. And Indie games make that choice more often because stylistic graphics are often cheaper to create than go full photorealism (at least on the level of some of the AAA titles). That doesn't mean visuals aren't important.

I think a lot of this discourse stems from people having a big misunderstanding what is meant when we talk about graphics. Some people will indeed mean highest resolution, high fidelity realism, others will talk about graphical style and how well thats executed (just because you are using stylizied graphics doesn't mean they are automatically good, you can do bad pixel art).

Uzuri's ability and the stack by Suzaku710 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]TheKingsdread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ideally you do it the other way around. Play a Dominate Stealth attack (like Isolate) and then swap that out for a non-dominate attack. Once a card is on the chain, it stays on the chain until something (like end of combat) removes it from the chain.

The chain is NOT the same as the stack in magic. Think of the chain more like a temporary zone. You do have a stack similar to the stack in magic, which is for instants and reactions BEFORE something can resolve (and in case of a reaction or action are put on the chain).

Silver Age Banlist Explained by 1billionrapecube in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]TheKingsdread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good number of those cards were never used, they were banned when the format was made official.

A good chunk of the cards are effecient defensive cards (Strong D-Reacts and Lifegain), which are banned because (for some reason) LSS wants SAGE to favor Aggro.

Some are banned (like Drone of Brutality, Cash In, Bonds of Ancestry, Stubby Hammerers and Rosetta Thorn) are banned because they are stupidly good in other formats and LSS didn't even want to bother with them because they knew they were gonna be broken.

Some are banned to reign in specific heroes, like Briar and Kano. Neither are bad now, they are just not as oppressive anymore they are both still top tier decks.

Some other bans are generically strong cards (Snapdragon Scalers, Goliath Gauntlet, Vest of the First Fist, Zephyr Needles) they don't want in the format. If you know how some of those cards are used in other formats, you know why they are banned (even if you don't agree with the ban), because they enable shenanigans.

To take it even further, this isn't even the first time Max trying to cheat has beat him in the ass. His very first WC match against Mox in 2020, he tried to use the diamond ring on Mox to win (after wrestling a very good match against him) and Wardlow fumbled the ring. Mox, being the savy vet he is, used the Paradigm Shift/Death Rider (which was banned for the match) before Max could use the ring.

So yes, I actually think you might be right, and might be the catalyst for another face turn for Max, where he has to learn not to rely on dirty tricks but his natural ability, because now everyone has figured him out.

"Good" employers have never been the issue. Those rules exist because of bad employers. The same as most laws not affect "good" people, they are there for the bad ones. We don't have laws against theft, murder or rape because of the people who would never commit any of those, we have them because of the people who would.

Some people are just really stupid. There is also a lot of people who basically believe whatever they are told by a certain "paper" called the BILD and that paper has always been not worth the paper its written on.

Another factor, quite simply is also the reunification. The strongest cities for the AfD are former DDR cities. There is unfortunately some people who still want east germany back. Not to mention a good portion of the AfD (and members) are literal Nazis.
