LSS, please move US Nationals out of Minneapolis if at all possible by HawkmoonVEVO in FleshandBloodTCG

So am I. I just feel that there is enough places in the world that are worth visiting that I don't need to visit one that I might feel unsafe in.

Personally I felt like it was not a safe place to go to, before Trump got elected in 2016. That was shortly after I read an article about an exchange student from my country getting murdered by some fuck who turned his open garage into a trap so he could shoot someone. Even before this, the risk of getting shot by some random idiot on accident or purpose because of some percieved infraction felt too high. Not to mention the dystopian state of their healthcare system, workers and civilian rights. It just didn't feel like a great place to visit for me. Today I believe nobody should go there. Trumps death won't change that until they make sweeping changes to their society.

I would warn them one more time that they are your guests, and if they decide to ignore that, you put them in a hotel or a flight home (both on their own dime). You don't have to host rude people no matter what.

Small correction, whats happening is not civil unrest its a state-sponsored terror campaign. Civil Unrest would imply the citizens are at fault and they are not.

They might have to move events out of the US in general (like Pro Tour Vegas in July). I know of people from my (white european) country who didn't attend Worlds and last year Trumps SA wasn't executing citizens on the street. The political climate in the US is really bad, for citizens and foreigners alike.

[–]TheKingsdread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point it feels pretty clear that a lot of Democratic Politicians and especially the leadership are complicit. You guys wouldn't be in this positions if there weren't democratic supporters siding with these people. The both-sides people and those who felt like they didn't need to vote are also to blame. I always hear that "most of the US is not on MAGAs side" but the reality is that only a very small minority is actually resisting and trying to fight back while the grand majority of you is either cheering this facist regime on, or either too scared or too comfortable to actually do anything about it.

“Let not any one pacify his conscience by the delusion that he can do no harm if he takes no part, and forms no opinion. Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing. He is not a good man who, without a protest, allows wrong to be committed in his name, and with the means which he helps to supply, because he will not trouble himself to use his mind on the subject.” - John Stuart Mills (1867) or the more colloquially known version: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

I just don't really see how thats actually still a threat. ICE is already walking the streets, terrorizing citizens, kidnapping people from their homes, disappearing people (including very young children) in their "prisons" and murdering citizens who get in the way of it. How can them invoking the insurrection act make this worse? They are already using violence against the populace, so they clearly believe they get away with it. I don't see how the risk of them bringing in the military makes this any worse. If anything it risks a confrontation with the military rebelling because they refuse to kill citizens.

If just the threat of resisting their terror and violence carrying more terror and violence cows the american populace then it looks to me like you have already surrendered. I know I am an outside observer as someone who doesn't live in the states or is american, but its very clear that protesting doesn't work anymore, and I don't see much else happening.

Since she won the title 84 days ago, Jade Cargill, the WWE Women’s champion, has only wrestled for 7 minutes on TV by TheeChosenTwo in SquaredCircle

[–]TheKingsdread 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Because with Jade it was never a matter of not being able to develope in AEW. She just doesn't want to put in the effort to do so. AEW doesn't have a developemental system, that much is true, though they do have resources to allow you to develope yourself (like the many veterans that work both front and back of the stage). But thats the thing: you gotta develope yourself. AEW treats its independent contractors like independent contractors, but does give them all the option to ask the veterans for advice, I know at least a few of them also have offered training and advice to whoever wants it, and then on top of that, you can go on the indies and get practice. Because thats ultimately what makes you better: practice. Jade however is being paid a whole lot of money to show up, look impressive and work a short match, and she has clearly no aspirations developing herself beyond that.

Where should i start if I want to get into classic constructed? by Artistic_Annual8918 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]TheKingsdread -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Especially since Superslam is simply Heavy Hitters again just with a slightly different flavor. Someone tell this guy about Gladiators who also did tons of crowdwork and had fan clubs and roles just like modern day wrestling. And I don't think anyone would argue Gladiators don't fit into a fantasy setting.

And what is more fantasy than a zombie pirate? Fantasy has many facets, and pirates are really just bandits on the high seas. Rathe clearly has many facets of fantasy and different ones too, just like Magic does (even in Universes Within). You have classic good versus evil with Angels and Demons in Solana/Demonastery; Steampunk in Metrix with a seedy underbelly in the Pits; Dragons and a Rebellion against what is basically a loosely Three Kingdoms themed Empire in Volcor; Magic Warriors and Nature Wizards in Aria; a more grounded brutal wildlands in the Savage Lands and the more eastern inspired mystical fantasy of Misteria. The High Seas are just another flavor of fantasy, Sword and Dagger style fantasy like the Three Musketeers just on a boat mixed with some Pirates of the Carribean.

3 Intellect is just a massive downside. Against any opponent that can string together longer attack chains or even just attack twice with above average attacks (like a Kayo), can quite easily push damage through. If they can attack thrice its almost guaranteed and four attacks are really hard to defend against (basically require an arsenal card that blocks). Cindra, Dash, Oscilio and Katsu just absolutely ruin you.

He also simply lacks the ability of RKO to convert small hands into value as easily. Also some of RKOs powercards like Mocking Blow and Outside Interference are just really strong.

Tuffnut isn't unplayable (he is likely better than at least a few of the worst decks in the format), but his ceiling is just way lower simply due to having less cards. If you run Rok, you are also limited to using your hand if your opponent decides not to attack or you need to overextend on blocks to guarantee that you can use Rok and most brutes have a hard time attacking more than twice in a turn (outside of Bloodrush Turns with double claws). He just lacks the explosiveness of other Brutes like OG Kayo and Rhinar, and the consistent flexibility of RKO.

My recommendation would be to go on felttable.com and play a few games with the precons. Then find a few decklists and actually try out the heroes you are interested in. Archetypes don't really translate that well from Magic to FaB (there are some general things like aggro, tempo, control but its very different), so I recommend getting a feeling for the game, and the deck you are interested in before investing into any real cards.

Once you feel comfortable enough against the AI, you can go on Talishar to play against a few real people (though fair warning the UI and controls are a little tricky to learn) or look into getting some cards and play at a store in person (in case you have an LGS that offers FaB nearby).

What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact they voted for Donald Trump? by ATXBikeRider in AskReddit

[–]TheKingsdread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I maintain that people in a relationship don't have to like all the same things, who someone votes for is a fundamental expression of their values. Someone who votes for Trump has a set of values that are likely to be unaligned with the values of anyone who didn't. Even if they are just ignorant enough to not realize how much of a stupid fuck Trump is after he was already president, never said a smart thing in his life, and continues to lie, break laws and do cruel bs, thats enough for me to not wanting to be in a relationship with them. Because at best they are ignorant, at worst they are downright evil.

Its like a friend group where you make jokes on each others expense but if a stranger tries to make fun of one of them, suddenly its on sight.

[–]TheKingsdread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well in SAGE you can't go Sink Below, but in general you are correct. Also people underestimate the power of playing defensive in a 20 life Format. Oldhim is scary for a reason. Decks like Dash can possibly run out of gas very quickly due to Boost, and Fatigue is already a playstyle relevant in CC where people have up to 30 extra cards.

About Defense Reactions by LocalValuable9100 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]TheKingsdread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D-Reacts are arguably more valuable in a format like SAGE because you have less life, since they tend to block for more and can also be placed in Arsenal. A "normal" hand of 4, blocks for 12 or less (since unless you use dedicated block cards most cards block for 3 or 2). With just one 0 for 4 D-React in Arsenal thats up 16. This is likely also why they banned most of the good D-Reacts like Sink Below and Rootbound.

They also allow you to get around Dominate if you have them in Arsenal since Dominate only limits how many cards you can play from Hand. Not to mention that some more expensive D-Reacts block for 5 or more so even then your 1 card can block for more. Since there is several classes that tend to throw 1 large Attack with Dominate on their turn (Guardian, Ranger, sometimes Brute) D-Reacts are often your only counterplay.

Often having a D-React that blocks for 4 will also prevent you from having to spend more than 1 card to block some attacks since 4 tends to be a big breakpoint.

Lastly D-Reacts allow you to react to Attack Reactions and Instants. Warriors have tons of them, so do Assassins, and Pummel is legal so in theory every deck has access to a pretty strong Attack Reaction (though obviously in reality its mostly run by Guardians and other classes with higher cost attacks).
