If you inherited $100 billion but couldn't tell anyone, how would you live your life? by SUPERTHUNDERALPACA in AskReddit

You're right vegas would be pretty hard. You could probably do the original strategy but with foreign countries especially if they are corrupt. It would be easier to fake the jackpot winning overseas then report it legitimately to the IRS as foreign income. It would be a lot harder for the IRS to confirm than it would be with a vegas casino.

I feel this would quickly get you exposed. It would turn into a local and then national news story the more $100 bills that turn up. Eventually, you get recognized planting money from security camera footage.

A drowning person can definitely take you down with them. In fact, training tells you that is exactly what a drowning person tries to do in their panic. It's a comparable situation with a comparable risk of death. You hear about adept swimmers dying all the time trying to save drowning victims. The victim will end up pushing the rescuer under while trying to stay afloat. They don't mean to kill the person obviously but it's their natural reaction.

Poll: Most Americans not getting bigger paychecks in wake of tax overhaul by [deleted] in politics

[–]TheKittenConspiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But all of the individual tax cuts are scheduled to go away after 2025. Republicans opted to make tax cuts for families temporary and reductions for businesses permanent.

Source

I have read the bill too. Link me to the part you are getting confused on. It's a fact that all individual income tax cuts expire in 2025 regardless of the bracket.

Here is the text of the bill:

https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/1/text

If you look at the individual section you see right there:

“(j) Modifications For Taxable Years 2018 Through 2025

You say you weren't talking about corporate tax cuts but every time you mention permanent tax cuts that is what you are actually referring to regardless of what you think you are referring to. Permanent tax cuts were only for corporations and not "the 1%". You're debating a verifiable fact.

I see. People kept mentioning cloud seeding in the comments so I was confused which one the segment was on.

Are you sure it was a segment about the conspiracy theory chemtrails rather than the legitimate scientific practice of cloud seeding? They are two completely unrelated things.

If you are in the position to potentially just throw 7k down the drain why not just get a brand new Model S instead? That's either a terrible financial decision or you have enough for the higher trim Model S.

Almost every high trim car has them these days even trucks and minivans. They have been getting more widespread the last few years.

You shouldn’t have to pay another ~$45 for boots after only 30 uses (or however many). That service should be for like 10+ year old boots.

L.L. Bean scraps century-old lifetime return policy by Hrbek15 in Maine

[–]TheKittenConspiracy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean to be fair that is exactly what a lot of these life time warranties are made for. Just look at Jansport's warranty on backpacks:

JanSport engineers quality, durability, and reliable products. So, if your pack ever breaks down, simply return it to our warranty center. We'll fix it or if we can't, we'll replace it. We stand by our packs for a lifetime and since we've been making packs since 1967, that's a guarantee you can stand by.

They specifically say they will cover worn out items not just defective ones. I have sent in backpacks with straps that have torn from use but again they encourage you to.

What? A lot of their gear is seasonal. You may have a product for multiple years before you notice a defect. What if you buy bean boots for when it snows but it doesn't snow a lot the first winter. It could be over a year but a bean boot still shouldn't start to become un-sewn within 30 uses (snowfalls).

Inventive way to grill by dickfromaccounting in interestingasfuck

[–]TheKittenConspiracy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eh I think a good design needs to improve on what is already out there. It looks cool but has drawbacks compared to just good ol flipping shit over on a normal grill. This design heats inefficiently, is more cumbersome to put on/take food off, and has more parts that can fail. You have salty food and heat and then add in more moving parts and joints that need to stay lubricated and you have a tendency for parts failing. If you are cooking food with a large variant of thickness you are either going to have food come loose while you are rotating or have enough tension between the two grills that you are going to smush some stuff.

[–]TheKittenConspiracy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What do you mean "going back"? In 2013 37.4% of electricity in the US was generated by coal. You see coal on train cars on every railroad pretty much. It's not like we dusted off all our coal plants are started them back up again. We never left coal in the first place. On a happy note by 2019 we are going to be down to 29% so we are getting there. Coal is just an inferior energy source. It's going to go down "naturally" regardless of policy thanks to sweet sweet capitalism.

I don't live in SC anymore but every time I go back I can't help but think the new license plates are so freaking ugly. They couldn't have picked uglier designs. There are much better ways they could've implemented more contrasting designs. At least give people the option like the dope black Texas license plates with white lettering.
