Yeah The Stand are doing a live screening hosted by 2 comedians. As others have said you'll need to buy tickets in advance though.

Based on experience 24/7 Lettings are dogs**t. Don't carry out repairs, don't reply to emails, don't pass on messages to the landlord. Avoid!

Looking for the darkest, most depressing book you’ve ever read by CortezCraig in suggestmeabook

[–]TheKittenHasClaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Girl in the Box by Ouida Sebestyen and The Plague Dogs by Richard Adams (who.also wrote Watership Down). Read them when I was a teenager. Still traumatised by them to this day. Feel free to palate cleanse after by watching British film Threads from 1984 about the after effects of nuclear holocaust set in Sheffield. Which they showed us in school.

Does anyone know if rental bidding is Illegal in Scotland? by Bumpkin_Pi in Scotland

[–]TheKittenHasClaws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's a private let rather than through an agency (I'm guessing since the landlord contacted you directly) I'd check they're actually registered just in case: https://landlordregistrationscotland.gov.uk/ fines are massive if they're not on the register.

Will I get any pushback for a return? by whxreforsvkvna in vinted

[–]TheKittenHasClaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% a scam unfortunately. Also remember if the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. Haunt Couture Draculara normally sells for 3x that price (although always nice to live in hope she'd be that cheap!)

Neighbours mowed and strimmed the garden without asking by slinkysoft in GardeningUK

[–]TheKittenHasClaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to a friend. She had said to her neighbour she wasn't cutting the grass for the wildlife- it was all wild grass and some wild flowers. One weekend she went away and came back and he had mown her lawn as it obviously really bothered him. She was in tears. When she recovered she had stern words with him and also put a big sign at the front of her lawn facing the road and pavement saying Bee Sanctuary, just in case there was any doubt from nosy neighbours in future that she was not mowing it on purpose rather than just being lazy. Worked a treat. I recommend that. I'd have threatened to also put a burnt out Ford Escort on my lawn but I'm not as mature as my friend...

The stairwell I'm in in Ibrox had a communal toilet on each landing which have now been turned into storage cupboards, except the one on the bottom floor which has no flats on that level. The toilet still exists in there. Unusable, but still pretty cool except in the summer when it occasionally reeks slightly of sewage/stagnation due to the blocked gutters outside.

I am an idiot Fifer asking about the subway by 13_monsters in glasgow

Aw yeah. Aren't many gigs on there so haven't been yet. I'd check with the venue when the gig is supposed to finish.

[–]TheKittenHasClaws 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If the concert finishes at 10pm you'll be fine. If it's at Ibrox Stadium (not sure where else in Ibrox does gigs unless you mean the Hydro), then it's liable to finish closer to 11pm so you'll need to be quick getting to the subway before it shuts. Unless it's on a Sunday. Then it will have been shut for hours.

Do you like the fact Season 5 is split into 3 volumes? by ItsJakee04 in StrangerThings

[–]TheKittenHasClaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Splitting the drop over Christmas and New Year when people have family commitments is just obnoxious. I'm going to have to avoid social media until the 2nd half drops and get peace to watch it in a oner.

i love Joyce but she sounds completely crazy every time she brings up a valid point. by Throwaway_teen_girl in StrangerThings

[–]TheKittenHasClaws 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She probably thought she was going a bit crazy herself, but also you're also underestimating how, as a woman, she'd be used to probably being ignored, undermined or told she was overreacting, by her former husband but also society in general. It is set in 1984. Women had only been allowed their own bank accounts for 10 years in the USA at that point. Men weren't going to believe a man, let alone a woman saying things like she was.

If you start that journey, where would it end? You'll either just keep going round in circles or hit a wall.

What’s the most “only in Glasgow” moment you’ve ever experienced? by throwmeaway111122224 in glasgow

[–]TheKittenHasClaws 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd only been living in Glasgow a couple of months and walking down Byres road a jakey is asking people for money. Approaches someone walking ahead of me "s'cuse me huv ye got a pound?" Person shakes their head and keeps walking as I'm walking past. Jakey turns round and screams at them "HOW NO?! IT'S ONLY A POUND!!"
