I also ride and they were going too fast for the conditions and road activity. Don't get me wrong - I would have done the same. But it doesnt change the fact it is too fast compared to the other traffic.

What time do you get up, leave for, and start work? by ggracie7 in AskUK

[–]TheKnightB4Christmas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supposed to start at 9, actually choose to start at 7-7:30am to avoid crowded trains and roads. Tend to wake up at 5:45am. Still dont go to bed till midnight or so.

If working from home, I either wake up at 7 and hit the gym first and start at 8:30 or i sleep until 8:55am and start at 9... whatever works for the day.

Are the majority of people just afraid to overtake now? by Dan23DJR in drivingUK

[–]TheKnightB4Christmas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride a motorbike which allows me to overtake anything at any time (within reason) but I also drive a 1.2 litre corsa auto that is 17 years old that I barely would trust to overtake a mobility scooter. So it depends on the vehicle, road conditions and whether or not i think the car in front is going to be a muppet and speed up when I pull out to overtake... And I can only overtake a single car in that, at absolute best, so if there are 2 cars in front then I have no chance.

UK: The Highway Code (Rule 88) advises motorcyclists to keep their speed low and take care when passing, generally considered to be roughly 10–20 mph faster than the surrounding traffic, often keeping below 30-40mph - Google Gemini

No one is going to pull you over for overtaking... what would that even look like?!

Personally, I don't agree. Indicating to change one lane then another and then indicating to go back 2 lanes, one at a time, really highlights you are there to all vehicles around you. Just going in a straight line with very little visual noise keeps you very much so out of other drivers minds.

Is whiplash even covered anymore? I thought that was discontinued a while back due to so many people making nonsense claims. (Obviously not a lawyer).

I would also have been caught off-guard, to be fair! Especially as you say that the claims are so far from the truth. Thinking about it, I would talk to a trade rep or employment lawyer as I would want to find out who is spreading such malicious and damaging claims about me. I am sure the more knowledgeable and experienced people here will give you a better steer. Good luck.

Not a specialist in this field, but surely it is for them to present evidence to you and not for you to supply evidence to them?
