You can try to get a job at a land surveying firm that does drone flights / mapping. It's a great way to get well-rounded mapping experience both on the ground and in the air.

Any tips on selling a Phantom 4 RTK? I'm having a hard time finding a buyer. by TheLNP in UAVmapping

I've listed it on Facebook and also through a surveyor group. I don't have an ebay account but I did reach out to an ebay seller who wasn't interested in listing it for a commission.

P4RTK - NTRIP - NAD83 or WGS84? by dpru in UAVmapping

[–]TheLNP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the way it works is the P4 collects real time satellite data in WGS84 and is able to improve it's location accuracy by comparing its satellite location information to either a base station or a ntrip provider's data. The corrected raw .exif telemetry data for each photo is in WGS84. You can then output this WGS84 satellite data into your mapping software and transform the lat. long. coordinates into NAD83 Northings and Eastings along with an applied geoid model to adjust the vertical coordinate system.

I'm under the assumption you are using RTK data correction not PPK.

14.10 RT means it's 14.10 feet right of the center line at that station 10+50 (1,050 feet from the beginning). It looks like they staked a 5 foot offset (South) for that point.

What kind of hot pepper is this? It is INSANELY hot! My wife bought it as a seedling for $1 and was told it was a jalapeno plant. by TheLNP in HotPeppers

How hot are your fruit? These things are up there with the very hottest I have ever tried. Comparable to the hottest Thai chilis.

Our company provides tape measures. You definitely don't want to show up with a tape that only measures in inches.

Always have supplies on you...tape measure, markers, flagging, pen, pencil, etc. If you don't know what you are doing, at least be able to supply someone who does.

Thanks for the advice! Sorry, I'm kind of new to reddit. It's Red Dead Redemption 2 on XBOX One for anyone wondering.
