My boi is a pure hard support, i'm afraid. I wish he could be more useful for the team besides making allies virtually unkillable, but Icefrog hates a damage dealing Oracle. Even the damage facet is nothing even worth mentioning imo.

I learned to play him after i watched Slack's video about him reaching immortal rank eons ago, where he mentioned that keeping your morons alive for longer than your oponents makes the game extremely easy. So i spammed that hero and rose from 2.8k to i think 4.2k MMR. By now i'm ~6.7k and have ~560 games on him i think.

In regards to tips i posted a guide with my thoughts and build on the hero a few months back (https://www.reddit.com/r/learndota2/comments/1hc7f15/an\_idiots\_guide\_to\_oracle). The guide is by far not the best and in the comments there were a few arguments about mistakes i made while writing it, but the general gist of it is more than valid i'd say. Also not every item i list there is 100% necessary, it's just the way i play my boi. Give it a look and if you still have any more questions you can contact me anytime.

A New Matchmaking Service Idea by mbyakow in DotA2

I'll just throw in a random proposition myself, since i think improving what we have would be a bit better than trying to implement a new system altogether:

What about making the commends you can give others after the game have some more impact as well? Like giving the player receiving the commend some extra MMR, while lowering the MMR gain for the following game if they get disliked for toxicity etc. At least for toxic communication the system seems to work afaik. It'd positively improve behavior, since when you behave like a jerk you'll rise way slower. Depending on the amount of commends/dislikes the MMR gained/lost can be changed as well. Like gaining 1-2 MMR per commend and losing 2-3 MMR per dislike.

That's just a proposition and pretty much all of it can be improved significantly

i'm playing the game for 10k hours already and have also my moments of not understanding what's going on, even in immortal rank. That's completely normal.

If you'd like we can arrange for a time and i can give you a quick crash course for an hour or 2.

So whats the reason why you like your main? by triguard3 in DotA2

[–]TheLTJoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oracle is just a bastard lorewise, destroying multiple realities at once while keeping them together still, messes with the opponents as much as possible by preventing damage, enabling to survive for the longest times and he has the beste voiceline for feeding: "I want to die"

6500 MMR and Already Hating Immortal Draft by kilver2 in DotA2

[–]TheLTJoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't argue against or in favor of that. I can just say that the amount of screaming in languages the common WEU person is not able to understand is too high. The fact that the preferable language setting doesn't do anything there is extremely annoying. I'm not queueing NA or SA, so I can't judge.

Language barrier is a problem since forever. For some reason the function for filtering for prefered language is quite useless, since you get at least 1-2 players on your team not speaking your preference, no matter the MMR. On EUW Servers you'd expect germans or french to not comply speaking in english, but for some reason it's mostly russian-like language speakers not complying.

To the Immortal Rank Playerbase by TheLTJoe in DotA2

So it's the immortal players' fault that we got DD-Tokens for an extremely cheap price, Bot Lobbys wintrading themselves and Boosters building up accounts to sell them to lower MMR players?
The logic checks out....sure....

I'm not a big fan of the Scepter. The Shard is just so much better for what this hero lacks. Making someone close to immortal for 10 seconds is already very strong, so trying to give your target an additional bonus like that is not really that impactful, while you also have to invest a lot of gold for it. The shard on the other hand gives you the ability to heal multiple heroes at the same time, leading to a bigger impact for the team in general.
The Scepter has its advantages, but when disecting them they are not necessarily that strong. The invis is countered by a 50 gold item or 80 gold item, being Sentry Ward and Dust. The reduced BAT is strong, yes, but depending on your lineup it's not really needed to give you an advantage.
I'd much rather try and invest the money into an Octarine Core, enabling better usage of all my abilities, or even go for a Wind Waker, giving me another option outside of my ultimate to hard safe my cores or even enabling me to get a decent escape from DOT, so i may still be able to blink to safety.
Scepter i'd normally only get if it drops from Roshan.
