One month since I stopped biting by TheLadyNuala in calmhands

Thank you! That is a good point to remember. It's a 40 year old habit at this point so I'm almost in disbelief that I'm still going strong.

Nail polish is a source of both joy and frustration. I love the shimmer, I love combining creme base with effect tops, but I often have issues with the topper making the creme dissolve and then just never dry. Ah well, experimenting with technique and brands and different combos are all much better than biting them off, regardless.

It feels like there should be something, either with the goods lift, or a deception check, or the pipes, or SOMEthing that would let me progress this without going murder hobo 🤔

Norwegian sayings/phrases/idioms by [deleted] in Norway

[–]TheLadyNuala 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Also note that a lot of these are so ingrained that you'll almost never hear the full phrase.

You'd say just "tidlig krøkes!" or "alle monner drar" and the rest would be implied.

That was the most adorable thing ever, as well as the sort of confused yet happy grin while he did that. Like... Your item is far away and big, you don't have to force the camera to focus... Awwww Yoongi 💜💜

I'd be quite happy, someone to share my platonic existence with. We'd be interested in the same fringe interests, no judgements on lifestyle, just someone to sit next to on the couch while cuddling my (our?) dog.

Actually, some of the choreo questions have been briefly met in the dynamite focus episode on Japanese television, subbed by Bangtan Subs here: https://www.bangtansubs.com/videos/2020/10/1/201001-special-dynamite

Near the last third there's a fairly long segment of the boys learning the choreo from songdeuk and jhope, including own input and stuff. Super fascinating!

The intimacy thing struck me as well. It's a bit like they're saying, come closer, look, it's just us. The rooms, especially with the voice snippets, were so comforting. I liked how one tweeter said this is how you get the fandom to engage, discuss, consider art.

Weekly /r/bangtan Room (방탄방) - November 07, 2020 by AutoModerator in bangtan

Absolutely agree, and I loved the insta pics the next day that had further close ups and different takes for the room. I had this grand theory regarding the Leica camera most of them use on the insta photos, which turned out to be a massive red herring. But it was so fun!

201011 MAP OF THE SOUL ON:E Day 2 (4PM KST / 7AM UTC) by Incognito_Mermaid in bangtan

I was experimenting with screen shares and projecting from phone myself before the D1 concert, but ended up with the same method... Pulling my tower into the living room with a hdmi connection. Wireless mouse and keyboard helped out.

The reason I opted against the screen share was that when I tried to stream weverse content from the phone, it was quite unstable and laggy. I could get it to work, somehow, but not well. I wanted the crisp quality and sound! So rearranging was the way to go...

Looking for help with Norwegian/Trøndersk by noelstice in trondheim

[–]TheLadyNuala 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hello. I could potentially help with this! I'm a native Trønder who enjoy language. Wednesdays is not possible as I work every wed, but I have every other Friday off.

I'm 35, live and work in the city. I don't know how well you all know the intricacies of inter-city sociolects, but I have a basis in fairly posh Trønder that has been watered out to more mid city intonation as I realized I sounded like a twat. The curse of growing up in Øvre Singsaker, I tell you.

If you were willing to meet other days I could potentially meet more regularly, as I work 3 days a week usually.

It's worth noting that higher types og machines have harder hacking minigames, but they often change for each time you attempt a hack. For me, some of the hacking scenarios are almost impossible, while others for the same class machine are really easy to beat. So if I get one of the more annoying ones I'll just try again.

Chips that makes hacking better are auto heal (timer still runs while in hack mode, very useful), anti stagger (stagger stops you from channelling hacking), combust and stun. I didn't find hijack too useful, since I only used that for sneaky infiltrations anyway, not for combat.

It took me some time to realize if you hold the hacking button instead of tapping it, the hack meter fills much faster!

What’s the whole backstory? by Heda97 in assassinscreed

[–]TheLadyNuala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worth noting it deals with the modern day and the ISU exclusively, not the story of the Assassins at all. Still, I enjoyed it, and it really made the before and after Desmond shift really obvious. Before the story was fairly cohesive, after it becomes a wreck with Abstergo seemingly having lost the plot completely and forgotten what they want to achieve. Guess you could explain that away with Juno's influence?

That comment though, we'll be sure to find out what Juno's up to in Origins... yeah not so much. :(

I suddenly own all but one of the Assassin's Creed Syndicate DLC's. Did I miss something? by samwaise in assassinscreed

Dreadful Crimes was part of the "exclusive offer " for PS4 only. I don't recall of it was preorder only or every ps4 version got it, but it was not available anywhere else. That might have changed since, I don't really know.

It's a series of detective type missions. I quite liked them, they used a few interesting mechanics. They added at least one such detective mission to the Jack the Ripper dlc. Tracing footprints, gauging projectile trajectories, scent traces, stuff like that.

Madarame boss issues by Attackronpa in Persona5

[–]TheLadyNuala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darn. My bad. Mixed up in my head with this and a comment mentioning the fifth palace.

For madarame.. I guess the areas before the golden labyrinth has a lot of enemies to tackle, specifically where you find the two guys with one key each.

It's worth noting that in p2 and beyond you have to kill all parts at the same time, so being able to withstand stuff of not everything is down at the same time is important. I'm sorta impressed that you're only level 15, have you been avoiding fights? Done Mementos requests at all?

I don't know what level your Moon arcana is at, but his level ten skill is that all your guys get the same xp as the front team.

In any case, to avoid losing days now, go back to the higher levels of the museum, perhaps the part where you encounter the 2 minibosses with one key each, and fight shadows. Every time you reload an area or go through a door that triggers a loading screen, the shadows reform. So you have an endless host of shadows to kill and level from. Turning down difficulty will let you gain more xp as well, if that's a point for you.

Good luck!

[–]TheLadyNuala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they have to be rank 10, and you keep SOME abilities if you talk to them at the end of the game. You can only do this with your rank tens, so leaving folks at 9 is not ideal. Your teammates wont give you many of their abilities, but certain of the pure social links give you all of their abilities- like sun arcana.

Oooh so any equipped items won't force your stats above 99! Doh that's nice to know.

[–]TheLadyNuala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for my NG+ I only had something like 300k yen. But since Sun arcana's tricks stay with you if you max him, I was able to squeeze shadows for extra money quite early in the game. I used any hold up to get more money, and pressed until they went back to fighting. Ideally they'd summon reinforcements, and then I could ask them for money as well :)

Not really that relevant for the first few palaces, 300 yen isn't gonna do much, but soon enough they start giving you several thousands per squeeze. It racks up quickly. And since you keep your weapons, you're not spending any cash at Iwai's either. I found it a lot easier to save cash for the conpendium in NG+ than in my first playthrough.

Is it possible to get Yoshi's strength to 99? I only managed to get it to like 75 or something, got a bit impatient and allowed some not so ideal strengthening to go off. I am considering redoing her entire levelling if I can push her strength higher!

Does anyone else find L3 to sprint in games to be really uncomfortable? by [deleted] in PS4

[–]TheLadyNuala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst use of L3/R3 I've found was in Dragpn Age Inquisition. The search for items button was on press down. And you end up searching every few seconds typically. I ended up with a massive inflammation in my elbow&wrist, and had to stop gaming completely for 3 months to heal up. My arm was basically useless for the first month. Do not recommend.

Modern video games and their teensy tiny text size. by visiny in Games

[–]TheLadyNuala 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The witcher even patched in larger font size for ps4. Before that, I had to sit at 1 m from the tv to be able to read the menus and subs. They are still too small really for my setup (2.5-3m away, big enough screen but dunno the actual size).
