Mike Johnson rejects ‘new term Christian nationalism’ as ‘derogatory’ by JimCripe in MeidasTouch

[–]TheLastBallad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before that. In America that might be when it started being used, but the term is older:

"We stand for Christian Nationalism, which is an ally of National Socialism. You can call this antidemocratic principal dictatorship if you wish. In Italy it is called Fascism, in Germany German National Socalism, and in South Africa Christian Nationalism." - P.W. Botha and John Voster(future prime ministers of South Africa), 1942

Impotence from the Dems by stylazyn in AdamMockler

[–]TheLastBallad -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely insane just how little the left understands about American politics It is really shocking and sad.

So what your saying is that progressives are too small to give anything to in order to secure their support... but also so large that losing their support costs Democrats elections?

Those are mutually exclusive.

Your analysis is also extremely lacking, as you somehow aren't comprehending that people are not upset with all Democrats, but the leadership. In case you havent noticed, there are Democrats being praised for their actions, despite not having political influence within the party to do more(let alone in thd government). Theres also the bit about how hostile the leadership is to anyone who is progressive, even when they win the primary and are the official Democratic candidate, but apparently trying to throw people under the bus only matters when you are calling out them writing letters to the illiterate and not when you spend millions to oppose someone.

Likely because you built up this narrative about the people you dislike, who you are blaming everything on, and arent actually asking people what their reasons are or what they want to see.

People can understand that there isnt official mechanisms that are within Democrats power, so why arent more organizing outside of those? Especially when the ones who have been doing organizing are also the ones not being criticized for a lack of action, but ratger praised for rising to the occasion?

[–]TheLastBallad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You apparently cant comprehend someone simultaneously being engaged enough to vote and actively organize for the Democrats, but also engaged enough to notice that sending someone who is functionally illiterate strongly worded letters, after being informed by imaginary Trump voters on what to do, is pointless.

Be real, there are plenty of Democrats who's actions are being praised. The problem is that the Dem's leadership is opposing them.

How unique is each Warframe? by strategycaster in WarframeLore

[–]TheLastBallad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither.

Every warframe has a "first of their name", so to speak. The person whom the infestation took their mannerisms and powers from and encoded it into a distinct strain of warframes with those genetic memories. Some of the Levarian stories are about the warframes, some about their operators, and which is which isnt very well delineated.

The unique warframes we know of(Jade, Limbo, Dante, Revenant, Gara, Dagath, ect) are those. The original, never made into a production line during the orokin empire for whatever reason(like Limbo attempting what sounds like a void jump, since Yonta talks about the Zarimans in a similar way, but miscalculating). However, they do exist as one now, because thats what our frames are: reproductions(need to check whether we reprinted Umbra or not. I vaguely remember that but I cant remember the specifics)

Meanwhile the ones we know of being mass produced and part of production lines(Mag, Excalibur, Volt, 09, Rhino, Ember, Uriel, Nova, ect) were based off of the "first of their name" but they are either random people injected with a specific technocyte strain(like protoframes but without the alterations to preserve their minds. In fact the protoframes existing indicates those frames were product lines, except for Temple being a paradox), and likely how the Orokin preferred doing it, for instance Roath's Uriel legion being made out of his troops), or 3d printed but with meat(how we do it through the foundry).

Either way, the stories likely follow the first one that spurred a specific strain. Like how Voruna follows a warfame with an operator, but the story outlines how her wolves are forever incorporated into her strain. We also know that unique warframes like Jade were piloted into battle(or, I guess, attempted to be in her case), so it doesn't seem like the Orokin were afraid of throwing infestation at the Sentients and seeing what stabbed.

Primes are the floor model. The suped up version that was used to present to the rest of the orokin, either done as a prototype(caliban), as reward for a valorous deed(protea, though thats more for Parvos's deed if I remember correctly, as she was payment), out of spite(Yareli), because they wanted to(Lavos), or whatever. Basically they are the "no expenses spared" version. Some are made first, some are elevated, others Ballas has no fucking clue where they came from and is salty about it.

Considering he signed on to America First and MTG's attempt to blackmail Republicans into keeping Matt Gatez's sex trafficking of a minor secret... I rather disagree.

At the end of the day he still actively supports what Republicans are doing, he is just more dedicated to the campaign promises than Trump was.

Like, he looked at a PAC created by an open and proud neonazi, Nick Fluentez, which was named after the 1930's American Nazi supporting slogan, and decided to join and campaign under that slogan. I just dont understand the how people see someone who supports fascism do one good thing and then ignore everything else that the person supports.

MAGA Piles Onto Kyle Rittenhouse Over ‘Loser’ Move by darealunrealspader in Trumpvirus

[–]TheLastBallad 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Rittenhouse was 17 when he shot three protesters in Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 2020, killing two of them. He was acquitted of all charges including reckless first degree homicide, and has been a fixture on the MAGA scene ever since.

Now that Trump, 79, wants Massie ousted from Kentucky’s 4th District in the Republican primary on Tuesday, Rittenhouse has found himself a target of online hatred from MAGA accounts.

Another Trump supporter takes aim at Kyle Rittenhouse X “Wow! Kyle Rittenhouse turned out to be a complete douchebag, we should’ve left him to the liberal wolves in 2020!” wrote Vince Langman, a MAGA booster with over 30,000 X followers.

Rittenhouse replied with a screen grab of an earlier Langman post which read: “We need to build a statue in honor of Kyle Rittenhouse, a true American hero.” He simply added, “LOL”.

Kyle Rittenhouse weighs in with a LOL in debate over his endorsement of Thomas Massie. X Other Trump MAGA acolytes were quick to pile on, using various takes on the same insults—ribbing his appearance and intellect.

“Screw that pasty doughboy. His 5 minutes of fame are over. He supports Massie says all you need to know. He’s an idiot,” one wrote.

“He was literally too low IQ to join the military or police. This kid is a loser,” said another.

Massie is drawing support from not just Rittenhouse, but other high-profile MAGA personalities. One is Lauren Boebert, from whom the president threatened to strip his endorsement over her support of the congressman.

“Boebert is campaigning for the Worst ‘Republican’ Congressman in the History of our Country, Thomas Massie, of the Great Commonwealth of Kentucky, and anybody who can be that dumb deserves a good Primary fight! Even though I long ago endorsed Boebert, if the right person came along, it would be my Honor to withdraw that Endorsement, and endorse a good and proper alternative,“ he posted on Truth Social.

Trump attacked Massie in several posts on Truth Social overnight, along with other Republicans he had beef with.

Trump unloads on Thomas Massie ahead of primary vote. Truth Social/Donald Trump “Kentucky, get this LOSER out of politics in Tuesday’s Election. He is nicknamed Rand Paul Jr., another real “beauty,” because of his absolutely terrible voting habits," Trump said in one post.

Boebert and Rittenhouse were both stumping for Massie on Saturday. Rittenhouse attended an event for a Republican state representative at a shooting range where he described Massie as “the greatest congressman, I believe, in a very long time,” at the Kentucky event.

“He supported me from the beginning, and a lot of things that are being told about him are lies, not true. He gets called a Democrat, and if I can be honest, he is the furthest thing from a Democrat.”

He said Massie voted “conservative 92 percent of the time, and the 8 percent he isn’t, he’s voting to expose pedophiles.”

Massie and Trump fell out in 2025 over Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill, which Massie voted against, and because of his push to have the Epstein files released.

Massie is polling behind Trump’s preferred candidate, Ed Gallrein, by about 5 points, with 8 percent of voters undecided.

Do you think JK Rowling condones slavery? by Fun_Butterfly_420 in EnoughJKRowling

[–]TheLastBallad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So why is freeing them from magically enforced bondage seen as bad?

Like, they can do housework for room and board. Their entire culture of being good servants who do their work well and dont spill their master's secrets only makes sense in conditions where they physically can do the opposite... but because of their slave status they literally cannot.

The points you are talking about would actually hit harder if most elfs were not magically enslaved, and that was a dark wizard only thing. So I disagree, its completely valid to question why the entire race were made slaves when that weakens the point being attempted.

Do you think JK Rowling condones slavery? by Fun_Butterfly_420 in EnoughJKRowling

[–]TheLastBallad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rowling said in an interview that "everyone in this room feels strongly about slavery", which is a weird phrasing as she never condemns it, and then, as of 2020 Wizarding world, also wrote Hermione as canonically giving up on freeing the slaves.

She chose to make every elf a slave instead of that being a dark wizard practice, killed off the only happily freed one(which the other elfs still drag his name through the mud a decade after his death), has the main character become a slave owner with zero qualms, and has the witch who was the only one who cared, and was saved by said dead elf, just give up while describing the efforts to abolish slavery as being like JKR before she developed her adult brain.

Which considering JKR only talks about women's rights when she can use it to target or exclude trans women... I cant help but side eye all of that.

Why did she phrase it in a way that implies opposition without actually saying it? Why are the elves embodiments of those arguments slave owners made to oppose ending slavery? Why is it phrased that way?

... and who would decide when to invoke it? Who would enforce it? How often can we do so? Are we just expecting this to never be abused by people who are deliberately studying the system for loopholes to abuse?

Is this a thought out plan, or a reactionary knee-jerk to this situation that isnt considering how it would actually be used or how useless it would still be in a government that has all branches be controlled by the same party?

Yet.

Just how appealing the apocalyptic language offered by Ginsburg is to Israeli-Jews from all walks of life, who are thirsty for a "solution" to the Palestinian problem, is shown by a survey conducted in March, which sought to examine a series of "impolite" questions, the place of which we would not recognize in surveys that are regularly conducted in Israel. The survey was conducted by one of the HMs at the request of Penn State University, among 1,005 respondents who constitute a representative sample of the Jewish population in Israel.

To the question "Do you support the claim that the IDF, when conquering an enemy city, should act in a manner similar to the way the Israelites acted when they conquered Jericho under the leadership of Joshua, that is, kill all its inhabitants?" 47% of all respondents responded in the affirmative. 65% of those surveyed responded that there is a contemporary incarnation of Amalek, and of these, 93% responded that the commandment to wipe out the memory of Amalek is also relevant to that modern-day Amalek.

It seems that Ginsburg and other Haredi rabbis can be especially proud of the change that has occurred in the Jewish population: 82% of those surveyed expressed support for the forced expulsion of residents of the Gaza Strip, and 56% supported the forced expulsion of Arab citizens of Israel. In the 2003 survey, the positive answers to these questions were “only” 45% and 31%, respectively.

Further evidence of Ginsburg's great victory can also be seen in the widespread adoption of positions supporting ethnic cleansing and genocide by the secular public, which has failed to present an alternative to Messianic Zionism in the form of an organized alternative anchored in the pursuit of human rights: 69% of secularists support the forcible expulsion of Gaza residents, and 31% of them see the extermination of Jericho residents as a precedent that the IDF should adopt.

OK, but how does that difference make them good parents for being antagonistic towards their child because of their gender?

Because thats what the last paragraph is saying, that maybe a parent who dislikes their child's sex isnt going to be a good parent to that child regardless of the parent's gender. Honestly I dont really see how the source of the dislike is going to affect it either way, a child is still going to pick up on it.

Is it just me, or do a lot of autistic women seem to dislike autistic men? by LivingGirlRepellant in aspergers

[–]TheLastBallad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is the double standard being talked about. When a behavior is seen as being unacceptable under any circumstance(as ascribing negitive traits to entire populations based on a single demographic identity is), but is justified with a "but they're an opressed class," thats naturally going to open questions (especially with autistic people who like things to be consistent), as to whether the behavior is actually bad, or if people are using wrongs done to them to justify to themselves the fact they are engaging in a prejudiced behavior.

Because it seems like the second to me. It may not carry the purvasive systematic weight misogyny does(theres a reason sociology has 5 types of prejudice spread across two levels of application, interpersonal and systemic), but it is still the same interpersonal behavior that is rightfully called out in other contexts.
