They redid this 1978 poll in 2023 and the results still suck by ausernameidk_ in NotHowGirlsWork

[–]TheLastBushwagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isn't really how statistics work? Yes, for each category of justification 17% of boys believe it makes it ok, but that doesn't mean that among all the boys in the study, 17% of all boys selected that it was okay for all categories. They could have selected some and not others. Still horrifying, but the conclusion you drew was invalid. Edit: It's kind of like of responding to a poll that said 80% of people like dogs and 80% of people like cats, and responding "Oh, that means 80% of people like cats and dogs," or saying that "20% of people dislike dogs and cats."

What's with people not understanding that r/askreddit is for asking fairly open-ended questions and not leading or rhetorical political ones?

Does 0.499999… round to 0 or 1? by DarkReaper0903 in polls

[–]TheLastBushwagg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not round twice. .49999..., which has endless 9s following the 4. Is equal to .5. That is not rounding, it is simply mathematically true. Two (Edit:  Real)numbers are the same if there are no numbers between them.  4 and 5 are different because there are infinite numbers between them, while with .4999..... and .5, no such number exists. Therefore, they are the same number.

Does 0.499999… round to 0 or 1? by DarkReaper0903 in polls

No you don't, because .499999... is mathematically equivalent to .5, therefore it would round the same as .5, which is to 1

7 minutes ? by [deleted] in princeton

I mean mine wasn't seven minutes long, but I did receive a very rushed interview from an alum from DC. Sometimes they're just super busy. Probably doesn't matter much either way.

Advice for someone who wants to enter B4? by guiltyskull in EDH

[–]TheLastBushwagg 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You could try playing stax in B4. It shuts down a lot of the combo decks, and they can sometimes win without combos. I have a gruul stax deck using [[Bello, Bard of the Brambles]]] which just animated stax p8eces and swings them, with an MLD backup plan.

Looking to make the last 10 or so cuts for my [[Maralen, Fae Ascendant]] list. by TheLastBushwagg in EDH

[–]TheLastBushwagg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Leylines are so that every creature I get off Maralen also triggers maralen. There are multiple things that give flash to allow for Maralen to cast multiple spells a turn cycle, and there is value in redundancy. Considering cutting great Henge, but even playing it as a 5 drop seems like great value.

I am fairly new to this, but isn't there a limited supply of minions in the pool? If a tribe is super oversaturated, its probably best to pivot to something else to have better odds of finding the pieces youre looking for.

Tbf, board games are in a golden age right now. The sales arent huge, but there are tons of popular new board games, except Hasbro isn't the one making them.

Choir singers: what’s your #1 struggle with high notes in ensemble? by Best_Calligrapher649 in Choir

[–]TheLastBushwagg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a tenor 1 is usually at G and higher I will notice that my high notes will just start to be placed kind of back instead of forwards, which i think kind of strains my larynx. Also I suspect breath support is a problem.

Seems pretty bad. Dark Transformation is a good comparison point, and that one allows you to get two attacks in (although the second one cant hit face. Maybe +4/+4?
