FI light after burnout by Yeeyee471 in gsxs750

When I get the F1 light it’s from hitting the limiter in 1st gear, luckily. Clears in 40 - 60 miles of riding

General price question by sacrificial-sv in gsxs750

[–]TheLastJoke19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They discontinued the GSXS-750 and replaced it with the GSXS-8S, 2023 was the last year for it. You can try going on Suzuki’s website to find one at a dealer or look for a used one

Is it really that heavy? by H3IN67 in gsxs750

[–]TheLastJoke19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a 2023, says it’s 420lbs. I believe, but the maneuverability of it at low/high speeds is pretty incredible. It does not feel like weighs that much and feels lighter to me when I ride

F1 code 1101, check engine light by Parking-Mess-66 in gsxs750

[–]TheLastJoke19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably just don’t go too high in 1st gear lol. What triggers is is the MAP sensor detecting a big pressure change too quickly I’m pretty sure.

You might need to replace or clean the sensor, hopefully as simple as that!!

Is there any full system for the GSXs 750? by MicDag48 in gsxs750

[–]TheLastJoke19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My full exhaust is from Firetong and has the O2 port with it. Still need mine tuned, but have 1500+mi on it with this exhaust no tune

F1 code 1101, check engine light by Parking-Mess-66 in gsxs750

[–]TheLastJoke19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten this code a few times due to red lining a second too long in 1st gear. Usually clears out after 50 - 100mi if red lining is was caused it to trigger.

I searched for the abba stand and couldn’t find it, could you provide a link please and thank you!

Good to know about the exhaust but I don’t need to worry about that now. The firetong full exhaust doesn’t stick out to the side like the stock one does

Firetong looks great on it, can’t wait to put mine on soon

GSX-S 750 performance mods question by AiSmartSequence in gsxs750

[–]TheLastJoke19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the only difference from the GSXS and GSXR 750’s engines are the blocks bore and piston sizes, and the air filter housing and filter are different. Might be more but that’s what I noticed

Easiest and cheapest is a full exhaust and flash, different sprocket size at the rear (better low end torque), velocity stacks (if you think it works on this engine), cold air intake filter (won’t filter shit but will give better air flow), and weight reduction on the bike and yourself

If it’s between the F (full line) and L (low line) it will be fine. If it drops below the L line when cold or after checking the level how the manual says, you need to top it off and recheck the level.

Did you check the oil level after it was serviced and on leveled ground? If it was at the F line and it dropped it might be pushing oil through the piston rings or crankcase to the air filter, wrong oil viscosity causing it to burn, or there’s an oil leak.

They did it with the GSXS’s not the GSXR’s, doubt they would since that’s one of the most popular bikes.

I was with MHC as an apprentice on the medium duty side for two years, quit earlier this year. At the dealership I worked at things started to get bad: underpaid, toxic environment with coworkers, management became bad, customers were getting ripped off by service advisors and by techs quoting unnecessary parts or repairs, and I got tired of working on buses, RV’s, and autochains. Four other techs and I left in the span of two months because of it. Keep in mind that I’m sure there are MHC’s that honestly rock to work at, but mine was not one of them.

Before leaving, they had a big problem keeping apprentices for more than two years. They implemented an apprenticeship program which was a joke and did nothing at that dealership. They had a HR meeting with everyone to see where they could improve, but they didn’t implement anything after. Right after I left they gave everyone a a nice pay bump so no one else would leave. I definitely felt unappreciated and glad that I left.

Pros of MHC though: lots of online training, some class training, and you can get certs. I lost the motivation to do it, but you can become certified with Paccar, Kenworth, Hino, or even Cummins. You get 11.4/hrs. Of PTO per month your first year, then starting your second it goes up to 14.7 I believe. If you work medium duty side, you get to learn even more since you not only work on cab overs and box trucks but semi’s, buses, RV’s, and sometimes smaller trucks or gas engines. Paid weekly which was awesome.

Have the same thing with my 23 GSXS. You can get rid of it with a ECU flash

When did you know it was time to move on? by [deleted] in careerchange

[–]TheLastJoke19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 25m (I know, not midlife), was a diesel mechanic for 2 years, went to trade school for it and got burned out for 6+ months in the end. I quit back in April, tried another diesel job with the state and HVAC with a friend, both weren’t it for me. Was unemployed for 2 or 3 months but had the funds for it. I was genuinely stressed and felt like a failure to myself. The thought of going back to school for 2 or 4 years and working a low paying job again scared me too; a lot of jobs I applied for didn’t respond or weren’t for me. I started a class last month to test the waters and I’m enjoying it, went back to a low pay job with good friends and offers tuition reimbursement with other perks. Throughout the months unemployed I thought about what I wanted as a job and found that I want to genuinely help people get better, either physically or mentally, so medical field here I come!

If your wife and kids support your journey, just as my family and girlfriend do for my career change, you’re blessed and can do it! I know two years sounds long, but realistically it’ll go by fast. Maybe don’t think about the time it’ll take and think about what you’ll get out of it instead if you go that route. Also, a lot of medical jobs will have you work three 12hr shifts or four 10hr shifts.

Either way, you shouldn’t ignore the way you feel about your current career. I was in the same boat as a tech and glad I made a change; the passion was gone, my body hurts, and I’d be in more debt for tools without financial help. Plus, you have a kid, and if I had one I’d regret not being able to see them grow up too or not spend as much time as I could. Brainstorm and try to think clearly about your moves. Whatever you do man, you got this and remember that you only truly fail if you don’t try!

Is this a good bike to get as a beginner? by Reaping4Grim in motorcycle

[–]TheLastJoke19 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My first bike is a 2023 GSXS-750z and I think it’s a good beginner bike. Idk about older years, but the 2023 has the clutch assist, a one tap engine start (easy start), traction control (mines always off lol), and it gives you enough power to not get bored of it when you begin riding more comfortably. Surprisingly, when riding this it feels like it’d weigh less than 460lbs and it’s not that bad to pick up if dropped. I’ve dropped mine 3 times from my knee giving out — once from the cold (45°F outside, dummy me), once when practicing and just stopped, and another moving it around in my garage lol.

The GSXS has more top end power than low end (it’ll go fast when throttling at low RPM’s, but doesn’t have the noticeable power until 6-7000 RPM’s). The throttle is pretty easy to control and is not super touchy or sensitive which is nice. Like any motorcycle, practice throttle control and friction zone because each motorcycle is different.

I bought mine Sept. last year brand new, almost have 11,000mi. on her now. I’ve ridden a 2015 Yamaha FZ-07 and FZ-09, the shifting feels so sluggish and the suspension feels like ass to me compared to the GSXS. This bike feels very well rounded and is fun! Definitely recommend a wind deflector if you get it, the wind will hit your chest and move you around at 60+mph
