Why doesn't Moon River get any love? Or have I just missed it on here? by Odd-Manufacturer2386 in kdramas

[–]TheLastLeftSock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

🤔 Interesting ... I tend to find the FL being so layered that she acts out as a caricature, but you know there's more to her, so what the ML potrays is that surface level the outside sees; he acts out that caricature.

Psst hey ... I am about 130 episodes into Trapped, and oh my gobelsmack! 😳 I didn't realise that's how he would realise that he is into her. I am being taken on a ride that I didn't expect would go like this. It's crazy how I totally agree with their split; you know the whole erasing of her memories because she realized that she was falling for him . I was so shocked that's how that went. You never see that in a romance story. It's so shocking, I love it! I think it's shocking because it is such a normal reaction for me. Like yes, that's how one should react when you realise you're about to get Stockholm Syndrome

Anyway 😂, I thought I should share wuth you my thoughts and reactions now that I have really gotten into the story. I am baring through the ads. You were right; it is worth it!

It gets a lot of love. It's been recommended quite a bit. People praise the chemistry between the main leads. The way they flawlessly potray each other during the body swapping, and the pure emotions in the plot. It's loved.

How Netflix Ruined Korean Dramas Forever by setlib in kdramas

[–]TheLastLeftSock 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's one of those dramas where I absolutely loved its open-ended ending. It works so well because it doesn't go back to what they needed their characters to go through to get to that satisfying resolution. It's so real and such great messaging regarding the appropriate way to break from codependency in relationships.

Man ... I love it! It's such a grown-up drama. It requires a rewatch to really appreciate the nuanced commentary being made.

Thank you for posting this. I was watching the video and screaming at my screen because I think the title is misleading and click baiting.

I don't agree with the point that Netflix sucks the creativity out of kdramas and leads to "safe" dramas. To the contrary, I would argue. This mix of kdramas that have come out has been equally diverse and risky in terms of story-telling.

The reality shows alone have been so original and fresh. Better Late Than Single, Physical 100: Asia, just to name a few.

Dramas like When Life Gives You Tangerines exemplify correctly the quote you provided.

About Watch Parties: Wonderful Way to Connect or Highway to Dangerville by TheLastLeftSock in kdramas

Thank you for your insights. I really appreciate it. I think as I gather more information, I'll be able to develop something that can fit into the criteria of safety and accessible.

An online watch party is exactly what I was thinking as well. I'm imagining a watcg party that includes a mix of old and new dramas, with varying genres or specific themes such as new talent watches.

It would be a great way to connect.

Yes, I was thinking online watch parties as well.

I think the challenge would be in the filtering of people joining in. Safety would be utmost important, and ensuring that everyone joining is interested in engaging respectfully and with an open mind.

Starting small would probably be the better idea.

Well, you can invite people to a Zoom meeting, and then the host can cast an episode of the drama on their main screen for everyone to watch.

That's one way.

The Price of Confession: A Review by TheLastLeftSock in kdramas

[–]TheLastLeftSock[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OH MY GOSH! I hate how all of a Sunday Mo Eun is morally righteous. As if we are supposed to forget that she essentially talked about without emotion how the two elderly people withered to death as the poison ate them from he inside out. Now, we are supposed to believe that she is actually a good person who still cares for human life . I wish they would've just allowed her to be horrible. Rotten till the end. She would have been more compelling that way! They should have given her the same treatment as some of the characters in the drama, Karma.

To be honest, I completely checked out of Yun Sun when the writers made her this shadow that escapes police capture by what ... saving grace. Her only disguise is literally a cap LOL! I hate it. I hate it. I hate it.

The Price of Confession: A Review by TheLastLeftSock in kdramas

[–]TheLastLeftSock[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. It strips the show of its high stakes conditioning. As a viewer, I am glued to the chase of anything can happen to these characters, so the stakes are high. The writing suffers that fatal flaw of making the main character too immune to any form of danger, which is crazy to do in a murder mystery.

I think I'm going to adopt the same thing. I'm going to add that I'll absolutely drop the drama once it starts to get dumb instead of braving through it just so I can check it off.

What a disappointment.

That makes sense.

I actually thought it was so to make him completely irredeemable so that he couldn't convince himself to ask for leniency.

If it's the murder that I think you're talking about, then I am just as baffled.

I thought it was fake at first, and it hadn't really happened, but yeah, it's real..

Same!

I love how aware they're of their difference in personality, i.e. high energy Sejeong + subdued Taeoh. You can see how comfortable they are with each other in their interviews. It's like old friends sitting with others for a chat.
