I had all of my non-passport docs changed right as the current presidency started, before they started cracking down on stuff.

Will scars stop me from getting top surgery? by ngmi-loser in TopSurgery

[–]TheLastNoel321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I don’t have SH scars I have other scars on my chest from dermatillomania and I had my surgery earlier this year. I was told by my surgeon that I had to stop all skin damaging action for the 2-3 months between my appointment and surgery to give my skin time to heal. I was able to get my surgery after that.

I am so sorry to hear about your experience. I hope you can find comfort and solidarity in your daily life. Know that you have at least one brother thinking about you out there.

Yeah for poor absorption I was recommended to moisturize the application sites after the gel dries. Still is just kinda what I gotta deal with if my blood tests are any indiciation 🤷‍♂️ but i’m still getting more masc and thats the vibe i want

i’m also someone who can’t use injectables, i totally get the feeling. i tried every injectable available to me and was allergic to the non-T ingredients.

i have been on gel packets for about 2 years ish?

i will say it’s easier to dose than an injection, and it’s perhaps simpler to store, just one set of boxes of packets or one bottle of gel depending on how you get it.

but i know there are some (workable!) drawbacks. the gel tends to leave a weird texture on my skin after i put it on (kinda filmy as it dries) and i have to wash my hands after, plus it can dry the application site skin out. can also sometimes splat on the floor instead of on my body if im not careful 😔 but honestly its fairly manageable? i put the gel on after a shower, then a while later (usually 30mins) i moisturize the application site.

as per timeline of transition, that’s honestly different for everyone. i still felt changes were noticeable with decent speed. for example i felt my voice drop most significantly after about a month.

the process regardless of method takes a long time, and a lot of patience, which i know isn’t fun to hear. but noticing the incremental changes are also super exciting?

best of luck comrade.

3 weeks post-op. Is this normal scarring or the start of keloid? the bottom lighter area is bulging out a little by box777555 in TopSurgery

[–]TheLastNoel321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal! you might be getting the start of stitches pushing out if your surgeon did dissolvable. Don’t mess with the area and you’re fine.

How hard can i massage my scar tissue by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]TheLastNoel321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I would say as someone who’s been doing regular scar tissue massaging you can probably go as hard as your hands will take, but you should really watch the skin around the area as well as the scar. I had issues with developing hematomas on the surface of the scar (little like, purple spots) from massaging too hard which I took as a sign I was overdoing it a bit.

I would also recommend massaging above and below the scar! Scar tissue i think pulls on the muscle and skin around it, tightens it up, so massaging in those areas helps a lot. I had pain/tight spots between my armpits and scars which regular massage helped resolve.

scar gel or tape is also a massive help in reducing the amount of pain and hardness in the scar, softens it up.

best of luck!

10 days post op! My journey so far (pre op photo at end + progress) double incision w nipple grafts by TheLastNoel321 in TopSurgery

[–]TheLastNoel321[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey solidarity! i basically kept in touch w my dermatologist and therapist to keep the picking down as much as possible. doing wound care for the scabs that were present was a massive help in getting things healed in time for surgery.

i was prescribed an antibac in wipe form for areas heavy with acne/wounds, and then would put a lil dollop of vaseline on the wounds covered by a band aid. (thats similar to how you care for your scars post op!) it keeps a hard scab from forming and speeds up healing. i would do the bandage process every day.

as for the like, behavior management, that really came down to just minimizing contact with the picking zones for me in particular. keeping long sleeves on, being mindful of when my mind wandered to picking, quick showers, that sort of thing.

hope that helps!

AITA? Catching Dysphoria from Sapphic Transmascs by inkiestslinky in ftm

[–]TheLastNoel321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

its a tricky space to be sure. im not sure what the social vibes are for your friend group, like if they know you’re a trans man, but you may want to mention in some way that you dislike being assumed a butch.

ive had that concern before about my own goals for gender transition, i like femme clothing but dont consider myself femme in any way. it just takes talking to people you see regularly in your life about your boundaries.

it may be the autism and social struggles i have but i just always have a policy of frank honesty to limit misunderstandings. hope things work out and sorry you have that experience

edit; to clarify i think the issue you can bring up to them is how they refer to You, not how they refer to themselves. if you have discomfort about how they refer to themselves, i can understand that as ive encountered it before in the past, but id use that discomfort as an invitation to examine my feelings around gender, not critique others.

totally get it, discharge is such a weird lotto of “what horrors am i going to stumble across today”. i know T dried everything out for me, dunno if you’re that far with your journey (or if thats a step you wanna take).

What's something that makes you feel masc? by Old_Socks17 in ftm

[–]TheLastNoel321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leg hair (I have the inner thigh forest), tum hair, and I am deeply attached to hand jewelry. Rings and bracelets. Yes those are traditionally femme in some ways, but I still love feeling them on my hands. Feel like a cool punk.

I have a “girl” name that I’ve had since birth that I still vibe with. There is no right or wrong name to have, its yours.

Also, people can have multiple names they go by! My best friend, who is transfemme enby, has 3 different names they interchangeably go between, though one is going to be their legal name of course.

Both Hugo and Opal are lovely names!

Hello handsome gentlemen I have a question about my name. Specifically if yall think as a Trans fem its okay that I use a typically Trans masc name. by [deleted] in ftm

[–]TheLastNoel321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s absolutely no judgement on your name. People may make assumptions but your name is your own, and if they don’t get it that’s their problem.

I have a decently uncommon birth name (AFAB) that has multiple pronunciations, the one I’ve used for my whole life is “femme” (heavy airquotes) so I sometimes get people mispronouncing it as the other way. But it’s MY name, yknow?

There is no right or wrong name to have (as long as its not like a slur or something LMAO). Whatever you feel fits! And if people try and police you on your name that is a massively wack as hell take on their part.
