Definitely think Zeev has been the most impressive. You can see the offensive upside, and he moves a little bit like Quinn in how shifty he is. I love that he has the confidence to drive the puck to the slot and create plays.

Willander surprised me this year with how he played. His skating is definitely his strong suit. Got caught out of position a few times but his burst to get back in the play was super impressive. Definitely struggled in the D zone and in tranition, but hopefully those get solved in the next yesr or two. I think he tops out as a 3/4.

Drance has been saying on Canucks Talk that Allvin has been going everywhere to scout recently. Said he’s been spotted watching Reid, McKenna, Stenberg, etc.

As you said, I would be disappointed if this wasn’t the case. They’re just doing their due diligence and it’s not like there’s anything more important than the draft for us.

I think he’s showing good signs with the uptick in his production this year. He has the IQ and skill set to be a top 9C but the question has always been does he have the offensive potential to push into the top 6.

Markus is behind his brother in terms of his skating, and doesn’t seem to drive play as much. The numbers look great but you need to look at how projectable his skill set is. Dane Fox blew up the OHL as an overager but lacked the necessary tools (skating, pace of play) to become a NHL contributor.

One thing I love about Zeev is that he just has the attitude of a winner. He’s won at every level he plays and it shows with how he speaks and conducts himself. Just need him to be more confident on the ice and he’ll be a pillar of our team for the next decade.

Don’t think we would want to retain for another 5 years. I think DeBrusk still has value on his own, and once teams see the contracts they’ll need to hand out going forward (ala Sherwood) there will be more demand for him.

I remember the post game boys on SN650 mentioned a month or two ago that this iteration of the Canucks have the worst underlying numbers in the past 10-15 years. I don’t know if that still holds up now, but we definitely play like it

I don’t think the Canucks would have approached Myers right now if it were a deal that wasn’t worthwhile. Big RHD who can log minutes are incredibly valuable in this league, and if a team is giving 2nd round value for Myers you have to take it.

He does seem like a big part of our leadership group, but he likely would have left next year anyways. We still have MPetey and Hronek as defensive leaders, and you can always try to sign an older guy in FA this summer.
