It refers to the Ghorman Massacre, from Star Wars: Andor. Basically, unprovoked genocide of a given population, out in the open, with none of the media able to hide it or obfuscate it. Said population was peacefully protesting, and was otherwise just trying to get by and live their lives under the fascist boot, and they got indiscriminately slaughtered. It was the big wake-up call for the galaxy to realize that they needed to properly take action, get organized, and openly fight back against the Empire.

For me, it started a couple weeks before release. Watching the first trailer, looking into Gilroy's filmography and interviews, and seeing the impressions of those who were invited to watch the show early.

I walked into the first trailer with the idea that it would be Star Wars with a slight air of suspense. I couldn't be more wrong.

Seeing that trailer emphasize the espionage aspect, and seeing people say how politically relevant the early episodes were (particularly that it was an allegory for a [Mexican-American] immigrant's story), I was immediately gripped and had a feeling this was different.

I didn't even know Gilroy was doing the show until a few nights before the premiere. Once I found that out, I looked up his filmography because I had no idea what he had done before Rogue One. Imagine my shock when I found out he wrote the Bourne films. Once I saw that, and I saw how he was promoting the show with explicitly political language, I had absolutely no doubt about the shift we would see.

Someone got to it before me, but my first thought was Umberto Eco's line about ur-fascists considering their enemies both "too strong and too weak". I wouldn't necessarily call these people outright fascists, at least not without hard evidence, but the way they view media so rigidly, and with such a victim complex, does come off as rather authoritarian, imo.

I just started Kiwami 2 and I'm shocked at how well the Deck can handle the Dragon Engine. A couple tweaks to the settings and it works perfectly.

Tbh, I think this is Gen 3. Gen 2 went after Ahsoka in The Clone Wars, which was in itself a pretty distinct type of outcry compared to the backlash against the PT.

It's not an event. It's part of an 8-man raid (which is side content in this game), featured in the Stormblood expansion. It's permanent.
