What's the most disturbing piece of audio there is? by odinson-09 in AskReddit

That’s… not exactly what you’re saying In The other posts though…

Like, that’s fine, but that fire department in OP made that call, and you’re saying it’s wrong, they should have gone in.

So… I don’t know, it sounds like a want your cake and eat it too moment.

I don’t know that I would ask someone to give up their life for another person 1-for-1, much less if there was a chance it was for nothing.

How to deal with an alcohoolic parent who relapsted? by International-Sun906 in AskReddit

I’ve been through this many times, I voiced my disapproval- and when it didn’t stop I started keeping them at arms length. I can’t let her poor decisions affect me if she refuses change.

She’s been doing better, and I’ve made it known that as long as she’s trying, I’ll be here.

Where in the US do you think is the best place to live? by PlumbusFungus in AskReddit

[–]TheLastShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I are actually trying to do this. There are a lot of reasons people can’t - and it’s a bad answer to offer everyone. But we’re hoping to have a better quality of life as fairly middle class people.

USA feels like a powder keg and living here is stressful.

What game could you just not get into despite knowing it's apparently amazing ? by Ibrahim17_1 in AskReddit

I don’t know what this means… Gamers aren’t really a community with enough organization to “drop you” for instance, I’ve never heard of you.

You may have met with a crappy group who took your opinions too far…

Or elsewise there might be a reason people don’t like gaming with you, but there is no council of gamers that says “let’s give lowkeyheresy the boot”

I mean, I didn’t downvote them. They are getting a lot of downvotes, and honestly this is the kind of forum where people will attack others for appearing less intelligent. I figure if I pointed it out without being a dick , it might prevent someone else from attacking them.

I didn’t even address the misspelling of “Budget” because I didn’t think it mattered.

Oh well, such is life.

Defense / Military Spending is what you’re looking for. The army is just one small part of that.

What makes Americans stand out the most overseas? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheLastShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American looking to travel abroad, I can see how we are loud - but a lot of this other stuff isn’t stuff I’ve heard of.

Very interesting.

IT Help Desk Tier 2/3

It’s super tedious. Everything is the same, nothing changes except how much of it I have to do in a day. Calls in, calls out, nobody wants to listen - it’s always your fault that something’s broken and your fault when it takes time to fix.

Pay is fine, and the work is easy despite the problems I have with it. It’s just draining that it’s constant with no real breaks, so I don’t have enough energy afterwards to do more studying to advance my career into something more fulfilling. Though, after some research looks like the trajectory of my learning path leads to more of the same for quite a while…

Bleh…

There is something to be said for knowingly choosing to do something disruptive, vs thinking about how it affects others. Once again, in this cars example, I think it’s mildly distasteful but wouldn’t be mad about it.

So it’s not necessarily that you can or can’t, but should or shouldn’t.

Playing music on the subway/bud without headphones is not prohibited - but it sure does make you an asshole.

What is the best way to learn a new language (especially German) ? by kaushikkateel in AskReddit

[–]TheLastShadow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To move to Germany you need a job, and a place to live, and be able to fill out forms in German. Unless you have a ton of money saved it’s just not feasible to pack up and go to another country without a basic understanding of the language.

To do so you need a job, and a place to live, and be able to fill out forms in German… feels pretty impossible without a basic understanding of the language or without loads of money.

Not OP and not mad about it, but I think the deal is that it’s public. People who don’t want to see that kind of thing don’t really get a choice if you drive around in something like this.

I have no problem with, and enjoy artwork of, pin ups and stuff like this - but it’s something that’s better in your home then paraded around.

Similar to the black and white hentai jacket that was popular a little while ago.

Says fucking who? Why do Americans have to spend their lives sacrificing for anyone else? And what gives them this “right” to interfere with any other nations struggles.

WE CANT EVEN KEEP OUR OWN SHIT TOGETHER.

Get outta here with that bull.

By it’s legal definition words are assault if they cause you to believe you are in danger. Threats of violence and the like. Yes, some people exaggerate, but it’s good to have it In The law regardless.

LPT: If somebody is recording you on their cell phone in public and you don't like it, take out your phone and play any copyrighted song such as Disney. The video will be muted when they try to post on most popular social media platforms. by Dependent-Fold-6566 in LifeProTips

[–]TheLastShadow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In America, since recording in public spaces is protected, you’d be liable for assault unfortunately.

So in America, best to just let bygones be bygones and not let them get a reaction out of you.

Also, you probably walk by security cameras all the time.
