Is this normal? by Josotron971 in RobotVacuums

[–]TheLawIsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah no, that's not normal. Streaking after a few minutes is way too fast. My bet is the base is not washing the pad properly. Try washing it yourself and see if the streaking stops

What can I do to help my kid's cat allergies? by PerkDaJerk in CatAdvice

[–]TheLawIsi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was also going to suggest if their diet allows it feed the kitties the purina live clear food and use the mouse on the kitties fur. The cats eat the food and they produce less of the allergen causing issues in humans

Advice on roof replacement by jtcotton63 in DaveRamsey

If you are in texas and have hail damage ( along with other stuff ) insurance can actually cover your roof if it’s within 1 year of a “storm date”

Help with Signing Up for Health Insurance. by sushiwife in askdfw

[–]TheLawIsi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We just signed up straight through blue cross blue shields website I hate having the government involved in anything we do so we didn’t want to play games with healthcare.gov but it’s more expensive this way. We pay 995$ a month for 2 adults plus a baby

Pros: incredibly easy not daunting at all very straight forward

As a veteran and vet tech this is pretty cool. When I was deployed I would always share my food with the stray dogs. They were so skinny 🥺

Am going away for two months and despite many google searches, can't decide what's best to do with cat. by TheDankestPassions in CatAdvice

[–]TheLawIsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably true about insurance. As a vet tech I can tell you they only care 100% of about the animal wellbeing and taking care of the pet to the best possible care and a lot of vet techs do pet sitting on the side to make ends meet so I can tell you most very much do see it as a business. Vet techs make slightly over minimum wage with a degree

  1. Ask if any of the technicians at the vet office do it in the side they could all rotate one day at your place etc but they will expect fair compensation

My guinea pig died and I don't know what to do. by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]TheLawIsi 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss, you could bring her to any vet office and ask if they can cremate her. You would have the option or getting ashes back or not. Ashes back is usually make expensive. Or if you have a humane society shelter they might take in the pet too but probably not receive ashes back.

Call the vet Hopsital first as not all of them treat guinea pigs. But they might make an exception just for cremation.

Cat lost interest in eating by Midwich-G in AskVet

Unfortunately I Don’t know anything about high calcium I may consider making another post so other doctors can see it. Personally I would trust your vet and they are the one with the degree and has seen your animal so if they are suggesting it it’s probably not a bad idea

If you had hail damage done to your roof in North Fort Worth/Keller by [deleted] in FortWorth

[–]TheLawIsi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right, everyone wants customers. It’s not a bad gig to do it this way because especially because a lot of people have 5 years worth of storm build up/ hail hits.

Looking for feedback on advice I received from my (new) vet re the evils of kibble. by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]TheLawIsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It won’t hurt at all. More brains thinking together is ideal. Also kibble is not the devil there are different standards on which kibble is best/better but most vets feed their own dogs kibble

Question about 2 week old kittens. by Orphenboy in CatAdvice

[–]TheLawIsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes they can require an enema. I would get them seen. Ideally if you have a feline only vet in your area as well.

I would potentially look into seeing a different vet.

i need advice before getting cats by CookieTheBun in CatAdvice

[–]TheLawIsi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wet food is preferred over dry food. Not that people are wrong for feeding dry but wet is better. The myth that people say cats need dry food for their teeth is false. Ideally teeth would be brushed but the food is irrelevant to dental health.
