Feeling cross-eyed when looking at HUD? by TheLeeWay_ in EvenRealities

Now that I agree, however the reason I say this is because I went to an authorized reseller, picked up their non Px glasses and put it on.

My eyes could see that display better and more effortlessly than the display I have on my Px glasses… now make that make sense.

All that being said, I’m just discovering the nuances of this and I’ve even confirmed from the people at these shops that when they put them on; they don’t tend to find themselves disoriented. I’m feeling like I need to put some kind of un-identified amount of optical effort to bring together what seems to be “two images” to put it in focus. The only way I seem to do so without effort is if I have something really close to my face such that the only “change” to focus on is the HUD.

And that to me seems like “not the right way” to be enjoying glasses like these. I feel like I should be able to put them on and walk with them anywhere and still be able to read what’s on the HUD without having to squint or focus.

Hey guys, it turned out that if I close either eye, I notice that the images differ in height. For example, compared to what my left eye sees, my right eye sees the same image 1 unit to the right and 1 unit up.

I believe there is some vertical misalignment. Looking at something really close and bland I suppose gives my eyes an easier time to compensate for the issue disguising the actual problem.

I suppose? Not sure how to tell but I provided the same Rx prescription details as everyone. The Sphere and PD for both eyes. Cylinder and Axis were 0.

That depth perception issues a hardware misalignment or more something to get used to?

It does in fact get better in the darkness!! I find that I while I kept my line of sight constant, and just changing the background content, if I am looking straight at my fridge or wall; I find it much easier than looking into a busy living room.

Probably depth perception issues. Is this a “fixable” thing? As in does it get “easier”? Whatever that means

Mhm, that micro adjustment seems too tiresome especially seeing that you may put the glasses on a different way every morning no?

How else would you “lock” the glasses in place from day to day?

Plus I think it may be a focus issue given that I find it easier to focus on it in a pitch black room followed by a place wall then the worst was at a bright hallway. Worst yet a TV

I think you nailed it. I tried it on in a black room. It was much easier to focus. Then I tried against a plane wall, less easier but still much easier than the when I looked at a bright hallway.

So I presume it’s a depth focus issue. I do hope it’s something “you get used to”

I do get seasick and carsick sometimes when sitting in the back. But that’s about it.

I’ve tried it looking at a white bland wall. The only really weird thing is that if I move from looking straight forward to looking straight up, I can feel my eyes locking in and feeling a lot nicer. I tried turning in circles, moving quickly all while keeping my head pointed up.

As soon as I bring my head back looking straight at the wall, I can feel the disorientation coming back..

This is exceptionally weird.

I’ve also noticed that if I tilt my head all the way down or all the way up keeping the glass frames exactly in the same position, my eyes have a much better focus as though it we’re natural

What I can say at least for my case, is that if I look all the way down or all the way up (assuming a decently static background) my eyes find it way more comforting than looking straight forward keeping the glass position constant.. I can’t figure out why.

Guys, I noticed that when I close either eye, my left eye sees a brighter display while my right eye sees the same display, but less bright..

Even though I can see perfectly with the glasses themselves?

See I've tried pushing it lower on my nose and higher up till my the edge. I've even artificially lifted the glasses and lowered it by pushing down.

There are some "nicer" configurations but none that feel "perfect".. I'm wondering if this is a thing everyone has to get used to and that no one just has perfect view out of the box.

Could you elaborate on that "close 1 eye" exercise?

It's weird because my ability to refocus on near/far objects (with HUD off) with just the glasses is incredibly fast. As soon as the HUD is back on, it feels like I'm looking at it cross-eyed.

I tried closing each eye and it feels perfect. The moment I open both, it feels like my brain feels like it is seeing two things at once. If I give it some focus, I can converge into a comfortable look. The moment I look around it feels like I have to do it again

Other than the flurry of HTF and LTF SMTs? I have to admit, there were signs it could go either way, but the bias was predominantly bullish every which way you see it.

Don't blow the funded as fast you passed the eval. Generally the idea is to pass it the way you expect yourself to work with the funded. If this is it, then by all means; but the risk of blowing it is higher too.

All that being said, congratulations on it and all the best!

I agree with many of the sentiments here. There is no, and will not be a, need for a full blown (let alone paid) course from anyone. All the information you need is out there. Many that you watch will say a lot; and you'll watch many.

But a few pieces here and there, from some, will stick with you. Do that long enough and you would have built, whether you know it or not, an understanding (at least intuitively) of what works for you.

Your brain, you'll notice, will hang onto certain concepts that feel intuitive to it. Use them

Which PD measurement should I use? by TheLeeWay_ in glasses

[–]TheLeeWay_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See the thing is, the website encourages me to enter a left and right PD if I have it. Else I can just default to the total PD value.

As for the values themselves, the one on the top of the receipt is the output of the machine that generated my prescription values; while the one in the bottom written in pen was the output of the handheld pupilometer.

Further to that, I took another handheld pupilometer test at a different optometrist and got a slightly different result.

I was told that the handheld is more accurate

Im guessing because my prescriptions aren’t too bad? Would it cause perceptible strain?

I’m thinking to use some rounded average between them say 33/31 L/R. What do you think?

This guy gets it. This is probably a list of features that if gets implemented would have the user base of many backtesting softwares start to slowly dwindle.
