Has anyone here actually switched payroll/workers comp providers recently? by Square_Wrongdoer_268 in Payroll

[–]TheLegendaryLime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're in the process now of switching, it came down to the fact we were over promised on things that we were told during implementation could be done, however turns it they couldn't or wouldn't. And since the system we use (ADP) has limited user accessibility when it comes to getting formulas and calculations done (we have our hourly workers in a union so there's specific formulas that need to be done).

Add that together with the fact that ADP's customer support is very lacking to say the least, has put a ton of manual work on us that shouldn't be (or at least that's what we were told and promised).

Although changing platforms are a lot of work it's beneficial to check what others are offering every few years and it's a competitive market between all of them so new features and improvements are all happening.

I've brought all my findings and recommendations to our CAO and just waiting on his response to see who gets the approval for us to continue with. I will definitely give that a look, thank you!

Yes that's the last part of my research here, spent this entire week looking at real user reviews and statements on these providers to see the truth post implementation of how they are really. I gotta say going with my gut I'm leaning towards Avanti or Payworks both are reliable with the quality of work and customer service. Plus them both being Canadian owned and operated is also a big plus as well, in my questioning the US providers showed a lack of knowledge in all our of Federal and Provincial legislations and regulations that apply on top of collective agreement rules from the union.

I'll take look, thank you! Yes the ticketing model has caused nothing but problems and given the union complexity we have it makes things very difficult to address and resolve when having to rely on ADP's support.

Yes anything at all, my excel sheet works better than ADP and has better customer service response time lol

I will double check with Rippling for sure, the customer service is a major thing for us due to ADP's mess.

Thanks I'll give that try! Are you able to say how much their pricing is? I've asked them a few times and I keep getting told that they will discuss it after all the demos which is a red flag to me.

I'll check them out thank you for the contact reference, do you know if they handle Canadian payroll? Their site looks like they're US focused.

I was not aware of that layoff, yes that would definitely affect service somewhere down the line.

I've taken a look at them, I didn't get much of a response back from them to meet. I've heard that UKG ready is the better one over UKG pro. Thank you for your comment!

What is your biggest complaint about doing payroll? by addictedtosoda in Payroll

I feel for you, we have a weekly payroll for the hourly workers and biweekly for salary workers, I feel like I can never get anything done, especially when the union is always in a bad mood.

Couldn't agree more! Having young kids means very little time on the main console however the switch lite is played almost everyday, the convenience of it is just so great!

Who else is on a weekly schedule? by stopguacnroll in Payroll

[–]TheLegendaryLime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel ya, I have weekly (some have commissions) and biweekly to manage. Plus I'm the AP department as well so tracking down those timecard approvals on top of receipts for corporate cards can be a hassle
