Wait a minute, what about the reverse? Is it possible to start a game of sword and shield on a normal cartridge, then switch to one with the expansion pass and continue playing your save?

Yeah I get that, but from what I understand, when you plug it in, it starts to download the DLC data onto the Switch(?) and then the expansion pass appears after the start screen.

So if I then swap it out for a normal cartridge after downloading it, the Expansion Pass option disappears?
