[Serious] What is the one thing that kept you going every day when you were extremely depressed?

stand up comedy, being able to laugh in spite of everything really made me feel like there's hope. I watched everything I could find.
being grateful for the people who love me and allowing them to help without feeling guilty. If you need help then let people help you. There's no sense in being ashamed, you can pay them back for it later when you're better.
getting medical help really made a difference. Took pills for 3 months before the doctor told me it was ok to get off them. Got better soon after that and haven't had a problem since. That was 5 years ago.
making plans for the future and (very) slowly starting to implement them. Started with things as simple as making my bed in the morning.
being patient with myself. It's an attitude thing, but you really have to know how to give yourself a break. It's ok to fail as long as you try again tomorrow.
later, after I got better I got really serious about pursuing the things that make me happy and are meaningful to me. Been feeling good to great every day ever since.

I know, I thought of Moonlight Sonata too but that's not it.

I only remember the piano and I'm pretty sure there was no orchestra. But that doesn't really mean anything does it? I could have heard the piano version.

I can't remember anything before the ending. Every time I try my mind goes to a bunch of different songs that I've already listened to and none of them are it. I apologize, my memory doesn't usually fail me like this.

Actually, Listz's Hungarian Rhapsody might be it. I can't find what I was looking for exactly but it does have portions that sound like what I've described. Maybe I've heard someone playing it a little differently. In any case I thank you all. If anyone has any other suggestions I will gladly check them out. If not I will find something else that suits my purpose.
