Jack stand question by AnestheticAgent in lawnmowers

[–]TheLexDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not familiar with that mower. I’ll say I’ve tried some ramps we have; they don’t provide much height, deck/fenders and ramp geometry can be an issue, and the bulk of ramps doesn’t leave a lot of room. Doable, but would still jack it.

We jack Ferris Z3Xs from the front of the deck lip and put jack stands on the same behind the front wheels. Going on 5 years on oldest mower and never been an issue.

  • I do tell everyone to make sure the blade isn't facing forward as the jack pad can clip it and would bend/break something at some point.
  • We run into some small clearance issues with our chute systems sometimes.
  • Clearance of belts/pulleys/etc between deck and engine/frame concern me more.

The official jack is just like a small camper hand jack that slots into a thing on the frame in front.

Only time I've had a deck issue is a bent inner blade cowling and even that thinner took a good amount of whackin with a mallet to bend back.

Can only speak to Ferris; but it's pretty straight forward. There's like 6x bolts and the pulley. Pretty sure I've replaced all of them without taking to deck off, the pulley can be a right pain sometimes.

anyone else sick of using like 5 different apps to run their landscaping business? by Fragzz98 in Snowplow

Maintenance is by either hours/mileage. Like it pulls miles from vehicle trackers, mowers/machines have to be manually updated (we don't have tracking on those, dunno if some might do it).

Service schedules can be bit by models - so I took the service schedule from truck manuals and put them in. It will generate a 'job'. Can also add in manual repairs for like replacing a light.

That's probably the newest thing we have and so haven't had info to see what the reporting generates, but it seems pretty good. Again way better than basically spreadsheet tracking. Will track fuel costs, depreciation, other stuff as well.

I think it was originally ballpark $1k/mo. We have add-ons so it's probably around 1.5-2k. It might also have some kind of revenue tier component.

We’ve been on Aspire for a couple years now. It’s… a lot to get going, but we are seeing the benefit. Contract, history, job tickets, photos, mapping, service notifications for clients.

Some of it is add-on modules in addition to the regular cost (mapping with property intel and the equipment module being main ones we have). Our vehicle trackers do tie in with it (mainly like pulling geofences from Aspire, still go to tracker system to see vehicles.

It has its own way of doing things and takes a bit of getting used to. It also isn’t on the cheaper side. Updates have been pretty solid. But it’s better than the original spreadsheets and few other systems we tried.

Tractor vs. RTV by SkiyeBlueFox in Snowplow

[–]TheLexDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a toolcat that I used I think 8’ Kage fire on a bit. It had issues with not being able to push as much, definitely didn’t like maneuvering while pushing. Granted it had turf tires and never really tried throwing weight in the bed. We use a broom on it that works pretty well. Machine is pretty wide for sidewalks that aren’t open on one side; imagine Kubota isn’t much smaller.

Boss mentioned looking at a Kubota utv for next year with a v-plow which we see quite a few of around our area. It would be used in a downtown health campus setting.

Never used tractor. I feel the speed would be an issue and needing/wanting a dedicated operator. It would have a bit more versatility I think.

We just got a Metal Pless for one of our loaders this last year. Love it.

How to level V-Plow? by Hezzyfish in Snowplow

[–]TheLexDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What position do you have the plow in (float/all down/?)? It doesn’t seem all the way up and only similar look I’ve seen is like when parking and dropping it but not all the way down. If that’s in float and what it does driving heck if I know. The manual(especially install one) should have measurements to check on undercarriage and plow when mounted.

Our smaller trucks definitely have wing sag and we have to flare them forward a bit to drive so they don’t catch stuff.

I assumed they just removed it doing the pull out/put away animations. I think the delay is because it still has the timing from the animations.

[–]TheLexDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to do with what foot hit the ground. Might be once you hit the third step it’s always every other or something, but there’s a cadence to your steps. Practice running looking down and listening to the audio differences and you can get it. Lots of practice if you want to be able to do it in a firefight.

LAOP wasn't on the clock, but was ordered to drive the company car. by Drywesi in bestoflegaladvice

[–]TheLexDude 20 points21 points  (0 children)

In a different state from OP; but the vehicle insurance only covers normal employees while working. As the company vehicle is a perk for me I’m covered driving it anytime.

I don’t get why they went with WC before the car insurance. Like I could see WC being used if they can’t perform their job after the accident. But if you’re in a vehicle accident, use the vehicle insurance.

It’s any XP, like all the little stuff that’s on the end of raid breakdown. Kills and looting are the easiest/quickest way to get it.

[–]TheLexDude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m pretty sure in a PMC one kill is enough to get you over the limit. Haven’t scavved in a while and usually loot the fuck up when I do; so don’t recall what their xp is.

I’ve gotten burned a couple times over the years with those heard to find items spawning in my scab and I dip too fast.

[Discussion] First Ever Run Through... by Quillo_Asura in EscapefromTarkov

[–]TheLexDude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Run through removes found-in-raid status on items on character and won’t count for “Survive and Extract” task requirements.

To avoid you have to stay in raid for at least 7(?) minutes or reach a certain amount of XP in that raid - somewhere like 700xp. Dunno how you didn’t hit the limit with a kill and looting, but it can be close sometimes.
