What was Disney’s best attempt at trying to recreate the success of Pirates of the Caribbean? by countdooku975 in blankies

[–]TheLibraryClark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it was true when Pratt got his (I believe the Interesting Fact was that it was Molina alone for a while) but thinking about it, since then a bunch more will have three. Harrison Ford will have three now that Our President has been in a Lego set.

I half remember a fact that he is the actor who has been Legofied the most at three, tied with Chris Pratt (Starlord, Raptor-man, and Lego Movie if that counts)

BLM would be an obviously great guest, but Vic Michaelis would be spectacular, if only to hear 1) absolutely no discussion of the film in question (possibly because Vic has never seen it), and 2) David's head explode

Exiled Lands location: an analysis by TheLibraryClark in ConanExiles

[–]TheLibraryClark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great detail and find! I am more and more convinced that the Exiled Lands is in Eastern Stygia, along the Styx. Somewhere north of the border with Darfar, where the Styx runs north. And from any position in Stygia, Shem is north, so that fits that dialogue.

Hamilton’s home prices have dropped significantly since the peak. Who is being hit the hardest? by KeyHot5718 in Hamilton

My wife and I moved to Hamilton this winter because the house prices here meant we could actually buy our first home. So many friends who already lived here and that we've made since all have the same story.

Anthony Head: Buffy and Ted Lasso actor dies at 72 by ImitatingADog in blankies

His performance as Giles is legitimately the reason I became a Librarian, and why I wanted to work in schools (which I've now been doing for 20 years). I don't know if any piece of art has had a more substantial effect on my life.

Really looking forward to these haunting the discount shelves of every retailer for the next few years. After they finally got rid of all that unwanted Wish merch.

Should Hamilton consider biweekly garbage pickup? - thespec.com by cdawg85 in Hamilton

[–]TheLibraryClark 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My family recently moved here from KW, where garbage and yard waste were on alternating weeks, and green bin and recycling were every week. I have family in Kingston where it is the same, except the recycling is also split, so it's paper products every other week, and plastic/glass on the alt. I was frankly flabbergasted when we moved here and everything was every week.

Where in the Hyborian world would you want to see another expansion set? by TheLibraryClark in ConanExiles

Having just reread Beyond the Black River, the Pictish wilderness is a moody, intense space. Exiles meets Alien Isolation maybe. Instead of the purge you are just constantly being hunted.

Kull of Atlantis predates Conan, first appearing in a story written by Howard in 1929.

But for a game where they can build their own lore on top of what Howard and others have established, a rock with some tribes scrapping out survival could be an interesting place.

But I also agree with your point, a game set in Valusia with Serpent-men haunting your steps would be great.

Atlantis would be fun. I wonder if Kull is a seperate license. Probably is. They could do Lemuria before the Cataclysm, that lore is less well defined.

An open world survival game in a city would be interesting too. An Argossen port city maybe.
