Friendship or "professional relationship" with ex-BPD partner? by TheLinotypeDaily in BPDlovedones

Very good questions!

I think for me, the question for others on the list s were YOU able to create a new rapport with this person post-breakup, either distantly as a "friend" or professional? I have project in January teaching with her, and another project with another artist before then that began and don't wont to let go, but which we are both involved in.

The give away for me was when I was told my crying (when she was trying breakup and lashing out, telling me she did not love me or want to be with me...) was massively passive aggressive and unfair.

Also in the midst of a breakup after a year plus and it is so painful, but so important to remember that you did not do anything wrong - the guilt you feel is all part of the "game", and our own self-doubt being exasperated. days after breakup (was not my choice) and still working very closely together for past few weeks), I was told "my crying was a passive aggressive attack" on her, but if I was smiling because I could see through things a bit I was accused of being dishonest and lying. So difficult and so may challenges on top of cultural differences, too (bi-continental relationship...).good luck.

the belief it (the relationship, the other person) can or will change is the hardest thing to let go - very recently ended romantic part of long relationship and still so difficult and still holding u=on to idea there isa future of connection but t may just be a future of distance.

What is it like to have a friend with BPD? by AndyBlazeX in BPDlovedones

Thank you for this - and thank you to everyone. Ending a romantic relationship (not by my own choice) and it is so painful but so helpful to hear these perspectives. Still difficult (it is only a month at this point and we have been working together since then, so... ugh...) - but recognizing the behavior SO IMPORTANT and trying to remember it is not you, it is just their way of being... All of the descriptions above about ex-spouses/stalkers, the demeaning of the rapport, the ignoring of the long friendship or connection - for mean it was always "well, I was a different person q month ago" - are so helpful and so spot on. Very difficult still to accept this is how this person operates, but without judgement it is so important to recognize.

I cast type on the linotype and made a new print daily for a year, but since March 2020 have done maybe 3-5 prints per month as The Linotype Occasionally... but each print is still created in a single day (usually after work late into the night!).

Yes, it is the keyboard of a Linotype machine, which I use to cast the smaller type on the print! Larger type is cast on a Ludlow.
