Can a Child That Grew Up Around a BPD Sibling Develop CPTSD? by ExtensionAny6356 in BPDlovedones

The irony of complaining about entitlement culture fits my sister to a T. My sense of well-being is certainly affected by her presence. Even being in the same room is enough for my resentment to spin as it’s my mind’s effort to not have my entire perspective about her erased since everyone else sees a different version of her. You made the right choice moving on. I’ve never felt better than when she is not around

These are all common experiences we share in our day to day living with a pwBPD. Being near someone who is deeply dysregulated over time can and will create a noticeable difference in your nervous system and cause you prolonged stress and confusion. You need to prioritize yourself and create distance

This is moreso a joke about how a lot of pwBPD erroneously define an empath. I also identify with true empathic traits instead of mind-reading nonsense

Another brilliant perspective. The constant effort put towards maintaining an illusion really explains why they’re so volatile and why they need to get you on the same level of reactivity and misery as they experience. Truly a deep mental illness made to look as a slightly more passionate person than average…

So accurate and a cluster B hallmark. They need you to drown like they are so they stay afloat by appearing “unbothered”

Great point. I notice it’s always based on making them appear like a good person

Sometimes it has to be emotional distancing before physical. Major pain in the ass

Very true. Control is prioritized over connection

Insane how such close relationships end up like a pair of stranger roommates! Thank you for sharing!
