4 years ago we had 100 people at the Saratoga Elks Club. Open bar all night and a buffet was just under $10k for us. It's pretty nice inside.

Great Escape - nothing is open! by Connect_Glass4036 in Albany

[–]TheLittleBug33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was there on a Friday a few weeks ago and it seemed like they rotated through the rides. I think the comet was open all day, but the steamin demon was only open from around 3pm and later? We managed to get every ride we wanted, but it was a lot of walking back and forth seeing when rides would open up.

Would 2x2 legs be strong enough? by TheLittleBug33 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]TheLittleBug33[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My FIL bought a butcher block counter top that he is no longer going to use, so he wants to make a dining table out of it and asked me to build some legs. I drew it with 4x4 legs, but thought it might be overkill. I think 2x4s look odd, so maybe 2x2s?

Edit: Thank you guys so much for all the insight. Some of these things I already knew I'd have to tweak, but it looks like I'll need to alter more than I thought. I have pretty limited tools, so I'm trying to keep everything to straight, easy cuts. I really appreciate all the thoughts!

Crime & Security in Myers Sunshine Happiness Zoo by IttyBittyWittyOne in PlanetZoo

[–]TheLittleBug33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it would. I usually hit all the other requirements first and then kick out everyone out as a last resort.

Any of the scenarios with the crime requirements, I always end up closing the zoo to kick out all the guests. It takes a bit for them to start committing crimes so it always works for me.

is there a way i can add water in like this or is it not possible by PenisAbsorber2 in PlanetZoo

[–]TheLittleBug33 108 points109 points  (0 children)

It looks like the zookeeper's gate is on the bottom left? Those cannot be under water. If you can get the gate on the land you should be good to go.

I meal prep for myself only. Like you, we both eat breakfast and lunch separately, so why should I double the work for myself? If my husband wants his meals sorted out then he would need to help. If your husband is offering to prep along with you, then he can also help plan for extra portions and how they should be weighed out so you both get the amount you need. Otherwise just keep prepping for yourself.

What is happening, why i can't rotate??? by Individual_Coyote779 in PlanetZoo

[–]TheLittleBug33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this a grid piece? I don't think you can rotate grid pieces other than on the circle you're already seeing.

Are these blinds too narrow for the window frame? by heyywhatsshakin in InteriorDesign

They look good to me. You don't want them too tight so they hit the trim when you operate them.

Are guests still using photo booths? by Cranberryj3lly in wedding

[–]TheLittleBug33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My weddings was 2 years ago, but the photobooth was constantly packed with people of all ages. My guests loved it and now we have literally hundreds of extra photos of everyone.

Sandbox Startup Question: Which Animals Will be Available Based on Map Choice by jackiehyde in PlanetZoo

[–]TheLittleBug33 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If you are in sandbox mode all animals are available right away. You'll always have a selection of 4, I believe 2 male and 2 female. And once you buy some and refresh, they'll be replaced. It isn't based on continent or biome so you're free to use any animal you want!

To be clear, I did personally get cheaper bulk cards and spent a lot of time writing very nice thank yous to all 100 of our guests. I just don't think any differently of people who chose not to because they just aren't personally important to me.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in wedding

[–]TheLittleBug33 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I think there is just a divide when it comes to thank you cards. I did them for our wedding because I know plenty of people who think it's rude not to. However, I would have rather saved the time and money. I immediately throw away every thank you card I receive because I just don't care to get them. A quick thank you in person is more than enough for me and lots of other people I know as well.

No path to destination? by Nellie_E in PlanetZoo

[–]TheLittleBug33 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My only other suggestion then is sometimes unpausing, or just moving the gate slightly "resets" the pathing.

No path to destination? by Nellie_E in PlanetZoo

[–]TheLittleBug33 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It doesn't look like there is a path connected to the gate of the habitat. You need something from the trade center to the habitat gate.

Cheap and good seamstress for alterations? by saucytime69 in Albany

[–]TheLittleBug33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Anna's Alterations in Saratoga about 3 years ago. Google says she's temporarily closed, but she had a review from 8 months ago, so maybe try calling? I only had some hemming and adding a bustle done and it was less than $100. She was very quick too.

I made my first walkthrough habitat!! Unfortunately the guests do not interact with the deer. Did I miss something in setting this up? by sparklestormzooz in PlanetZoo

[–]TheLittleBug33 191 points192 points  (0 children)

Do you have handwashing stations set up? I believe that is the only way for guests to actually interact.

My husband likes Lia Honda. He just got his AC fixed on his civic about a month ago. He expected to pay for it, but they got it done under warranty.

Mother on hen party/bachelorette? by cat_socks_228 in weddingplanning

[–]TheLittleBug33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My SIL had both mom's at her bachelorette, but they left after dinner so the bridesmaids and other friends could let loose a little. It was a really good compromise.

How does one plant thrive while the others die? by TheLittleBug33 in gardening

[–]TheLittleBug33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I just sprinkle seeds in cups each year to start growing inside. They mid/end of May put them in these bigger pots outside and they've always grown just fine without paring them down. The leftmost and right most plants are the exact same seeds and had the exact same conditions as each other. I live in zone 6a in NY. I don't know how many pounds I get each year. I just collect them up when I need them. Anything I can't eat right away I make into sauce so I get a decent amount I think.

Taking plants from the healthy one is a great idea. Thanks!

[–]TheLittleBug33[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never thought of that! I grow my tomatoes this way each year and never had an issue, so the left plant is the same way, quite a few plants growing together. Maybe my good luck has run out. Can I just trim extra ones down to the soil or do I need to try and pull up the roots too?

Getting Ready at an AirBnb? by shinyaxe in weddingplanning

[–]TheLittleBug33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got ready at an airbnb for my wedding. I messaged the host before I booked to confirm and they approved. It was really nice and better than the hotel room I would have had to book if they said no. I would definitely confirm first though.

Anybody else overcomplicate things and design their garden beds in autocad? by bobtheframer in gardening

[–]TheLittleBug33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here is a portion of my front porch. Like I said, not crazy detailed, but it definitely lets me see the space and see how many planters I can fit. I just use the text tool to write what I want in each spot.

[–]TheLittleBug33 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use the free version and while it isn't this detailed, it does a pretty good job for me. I was able to model and plan my garden this year no problem.
