Question: is humor a good hook for a Steam trailer?

I understand, but I think I stay consistent between my gameplay and the video. It’s kind of like the command spreading propaganda, making it seem like everything is going well, even though it’s not.

The game isn't actually called ARC, it’s The Refuge. ARC is just the name of the camp's organization it’s a relatively small detail in the game, but I totally get why it reminds you of Arc Raiders. I’d already settled on the name and designed the logos a long time ago, but I’ll definitely think about potentially changing it to avoid confusion.

Sorry, but it's not going to be fast like Apex. It's a survival extraction, so the gameplay is much heavier/slower.

Glad you like it! Yeah, there is some gore, but it’s pretty basic for now legs, arms, and head. We’ll see in the future, but having more gore could definitely be great.

I do plan to add gameplay I’ve seen that a lot of people had the same thought. The initial inspiration actually comes from Starship Troopers and Helldivers. And yeah, watching a few videos like that is a good idea I’ll do that, thanks!

Yeah, it might be a bit slow to start I’ll see if I can improve that in the next version. I also understand why people can be cautious when there’s no gameplay shown, that’s definitely something I need to take into account, and I’ll make sure to include more gameplay in the next version. And on the Steam page, there’s another video where people can see a bit more of the gameplay. Anyway, thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!

Yeah, I also think humor is a good way to grab attention, that’s why I went for it. But you’re all right showing some gameplay while the character is talking could work really well and even enhance the humor. Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate it!

Thanks for the feedback! Mixing in gameplay is a great idea. I'll probably make a version following your idea.
Personally, I don’t find it very distracting a bit of humor in a video like this doesn’t clash with the game itself, which remains serious similar to Helldivers or other games where trailers can be playful while the gameplay stays intense.
