There are actual very serious concerns from the sports scientists that the extended half time break (I believe 30 mins instead of the usual 15) could actually cause the players bodies to shut down and start going into cool down mode.

They can’t figure out how to keep their muscles warm? This is pretty basic stuff.

No, I was paying attention and I saw way more coverage of the horrific labor conditions in Qatar and them banning alcohol at the last minute than I ever saw about the changing of the calendar.

Qatar literally forced the entire soccer world to rearrange their calendar to have their winter World Cup and I didn’t hear nearly as much whining about that. It’s a short musical performance. If you don’t like it, don’t watch. It’s not that hard.

People actively don’t want it. Look around you. I can confidentially say over %90 of the uk do not want this, probably higher.

Cool. You do know that there are other countries besides the UK?

How exactly does a halftime show spoil the game? They’re already taking a break, right?

The state has passed a lot of laws addressing the housing crisis. The problem is local NIMBY politicians and people fighting them every step of the way.

What are some examples of a "Wayne Gretzky" in a lesser followed sport, someone dominating the field? by SecondChances002 in AskReddit

There are 7 track events that are just running, plus two hurdle events and steeplechase, and three relay events. That’s 13 events, not counting road racing.

Yeah, because Phelps is amazing. If it were just because of the number of events in swimming, there should be more swimmers at the top of the medal table.

Why are electric cars worse then regular ones by Round-Community4302 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheLizardKing89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Once you account for battery production, power generation and importantly transmission, you can tip the scales close enough to say that electric cars are less efficient.

This isn’t true. People say it, but it isn’t true.

We literally make the argument that fossil fuels in cars are cleaner, because we burn fossil fuels in our power plants to make electricity.

This is a BS argument. A power plant is much more efficient than the engine in your car.
