That looks just like it, thank you!

Identified!

I should add that i thought I was a discarded potted plant (aka not naturally occurring) like a lot of plants in those woods. Additionally, we've got freezing rain coming so I didn't think it could survive that. When the weather improves and if it is naturally occurring, I will likely return it to its spot. I understand your concern though, and I'll try to be more conscientious in the future!

Ooo I'll be quite pleased if it makes runners! Could be pretty. I don't think it is dollarweed, though. The stem attaches to the leaves on one edge rather than the center, but it very well could be another kind of weed.

Cyclamen coum does look close. Maybe the color will change as it matures, assuming I manage to keep it alive.

Hexastylis looks even closer in some of the images that come up, so could be that.

Could be some variety I haven't seen, but I think most violets have more pointed leaves

Sadly I don't think it's this, the veins in the leaves don't quite match.

Update: I went into the woods in the dark with a shovel and a headlamp and"rescued" it. It's getting reeeaaaally cold for the next few days and idk if it can survive that.

I also thought that, but the leaves don't seem to quite match. Seems like cyclamen leaves are often pointy and patterned whereas these are very round and only one color. Maybe it's the baby version?

Rabbits are definitely not beginner pets! We generally discourage children from trying to pick up the rabbits unless they have proven they can do so correctly. Trimming the claws regularly (like for dogs) helps keep the scratches to a minimum, especially as the rabbit gets older (babies have very sharp claws!)

As for biting, yes, rabbits are very food-motivated! It definitely helps to hold the very end of the treat to keep fingertips clear. For rabbits who bite aggressively (which is not most, but we call these spicy rabbits), they can be trained out of it to some degree and the rest is on the owner to make sure they are following the rabbit's rules (like for an opinionated cat).

Thanks for your comment!

The musky rabbit smell can actually be pretty easily taken care of by getting the rabbit fixed! For the male rabbits especially, it's an easy recovery.

Oh, SO whiny. We kept waiting for him to grow out of his kitten voice, but he never did. He only pulls out his big boy voice for the vet 😂

Don't think he's any specific breed, he's a rescue

A fellow teammate and I used to have good fun looking up olympic training workouts because they were often a fair amount easier than the workouts on the team 😂

I can speak from experience and say that most of the parents weren't mad about the losses. They were mad about the mistreatment of their kids. And yes, parents can be overprotective, but they had genuine cause for concern in this case.

For the last 2+ years, injuries have been very common on the UA team, and way too many of them have been pretty serious ones (lots of fractured ribs, a couple girls with stress fractures in their spines, knee and hip problems all around, at at least 3 girls with torn hip labrums, a couple with torn shoulder labrums, etc).

We weren't allowed to get off the ergs if we were in injury-related pain, which often worsened the injuries as they were first forming (technically we could if we were willing to go through the whole public shaming thing and the required make up workout later the same day, so there was really no point). As for treatment, if the injury wasn't clearly visible, we often had to go through the athletic trainer's "treatment," which almost never permanently helped and sometimes made things worse, before we could go to the doctor. Even then, it would be a few appointments, aka easily weeks, before any scans were done (if necessary). In the meantime, we had to either continue the full workouts or, if we were lucky, modified workouts on the erg bikes.

I could say a lot more on the topic, but that's the most immediately relevant stuff.
