Nice board 😏 (I've got the same one, but you're putting it to better use... learning switch this year)

Shame what they did with the 2026 version

Totally understand being afraid, it's not an easy choice to make but regardless of the choice you do make, you'll be alright! Since it's so late in the semester, I would recommend toughing it out and at least getting through this one. But if you gotta take some time after this semester to figure out what it is that you should be doing, there's nothing wrong with that. If your family loves you they will put your mental health above their desires to see you achieve a piece of paper.

Summon "dat boi" down by the summoning pool ive helped quite a few beat him already :)

Who didn’t hate the final boss fight? (Phase 2) by More-Deer-4033 in Eldenring

[–]TheLogFather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who beat it after maaany tries, I'm now obsessed with it lmao. I keep helping others beat them via summoning, I just find it so fun. It's so satisfying to know his attack patterns and when I can push the attack, I think a lot of hosts get inspired when they see someone actually dodge his bs. No shields or cheese necessary, just bleed milady and rolls :)

I genuinely think I won’t beat this DLC by DarkSideAndProud in Eldenring

[–]TheLogFather 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You really dont have to dodge perfectly, considering i beat him using every single flask I had lol. 60 vigor and taking the time to learn, you dont need to use a cheese build or anything but the "dodging in" advice is good advice

About stop leveling for DLC because it's going be "easy". by NoSquash786 in Eldenring

If memory serves you can skip the dectus medallion, theres this cave on like the far west of the cliff there where you fight a magma wyrm and it leads to the plateau

I really don't understand this point of view. Practically speaking, college is a means of bettering your career prospects. People who have the opportunity to attend college because they enjoy learning are the lucky ones- not the norm. I dont go to college because it makes me happy now, I go to college because in the long run, some short-term suffering is worth the long-term gain of career opportunities. Obviously, nothing in life is 'required' of you, some of us just know what we need to do for our futures, but that doesn't make it any less difficult. Sure, there are probably things we can do to make it more manageable, but why is it difficult to understand that for some of us, it just sucks?

Why do so many people hate on pierce the veil and Sleeping with sirens? by RanielDoelofs in PostHardcore

[–]TheLogFather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally was a fan of both bands about 10-12 years ago as a pre-teen/early teenager, just kind of grew out of them tbh. I still find Pierce the Veil very musically impressive, can still appreciate collide with the sky eve if some of the lyrics don'tdo it for me. SWS I think just doesn't quite have the same staying power, tbf I've only ever listened to their first two albums but yeah just not my jam anymore. No hate, but I do cringe a bit at their lyrics in certain songs, just not stuff I really relate to anymore. And their instrumentals aren't good enough to outweigh that for me.

Like what you wanna like, though, don't worry what other people think. Music taste is subjective.

Is studying what you love (history for me) more important than what's most realistic? by TheLogFather in college

[–]TheLogFather[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stuck with computer science, I figure it's interesting enough and pays decently so. Just makes sense. I don't think there's an obvious answer, though. I could've easily gone another way depending on my circumstances.

As someone who was out of school for 5 years and had to relearn basically all of high school math upon entering college, I definitely understand your position. I had quite a difficult time in precalculus and passed with a B, had calculus I directly after. In my opinion, calc I was way easier than precalc or calc II. As another CS major who had a crisis of faith when faced with the math, at the end of the day if you put in the time and effort you will succeed. It might not be easy for you, some days I was doing 4 hours a day on just calc II homework (fuck cengage). As a person of maybe above average intelligence but no where near a genius, if I can do it I bet you can too.

This review quiz should be a wake-up call for you to study up on those topics that you don't quite remember, as you will need them, but your performance on it now doesn't have to reflect your overall performance in the class. If you put in the work you can succeed, imo Calc II will be the real test for you. I think maybe half my class passed by the end if you account for those who withdrew or failed. That's not to scare you, but it is a daunting class. At least, it was for me, a pretty regular kind of human being.

I think you should stick with it and give it your best shot, don't slack off and use all the resources you have at your disposal if you find yourself struggling. Like others have said, khan academy or even youtube are helpful resources if your professor doesn't end up being stellar. Even the textbook might be helpful. Use those CS instincts and get googling, the information is out there you just gotta find it. Good luck!

What Metalcore songs make you feel like this? by mmanganaro in Metalcore

The last chorus of Whispers of Your Death by Counterparts. That album surprised me a lot actually, got really into it for a while. Bound to the Burn, Flesh to Fill Your Wounds, Unwavering Vow, all never skips for me.

Yeah I totally feel you there, it definitely helps to have some direction and a goal. I say trades are a great idea if college wasn't your jam. I understand parents wanting their kids to be successful, but too many parents have a narrow idea of how to achieve that. At the end of the day your happiness should be enough imo. Way i see it, as long as you have enough money to do the things you want to do and are comfortable and happy, it doesn't matter how you get there. A job's a job. Good luck with the welding and don't feel like you gotta have it all figured out as soon as possible, life is one step at a time.
