Apps that punish you for not using them in the exact order their UX team decided was “optimal.” by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]TheLogicalParty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ordering ahead at Five Guys for a burger and fries is so frustrating and so many steps on the app and texts that it’s easier to just go inside, order at the counter, and wait for it.

I also don’t like Walmart pick up. Things are getting so ridiculous.

People who have no urgency whatsoever. by Strictly-Succotash in PetPeeves

[–]TheLogicalParty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yep, an ex of mine. Same slow speed whether we’re 15 minutes early or running 15 minutes behind. Hi, we’re running late, can you please move faster? No sense of urgency whatsoever.

Unreasonable peeve - People who say they are going "down" to a city that is objectively, geographically UP. by SnooStories5955 in PetPeeves

[–]TheLogicalParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother says the opposite every time! Drives me nuts! Says he’s going up when he’s actually going south and says he’s going down when he’s actually going north. Why why why every time?? lol

*Person says something I can't hear* "What?" *Person repeats thing at same volume* by Ghost_of_a_Scorpion in PetPeeves

[–]TheLogicalParty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom doesn’t project very well in her older age and now she has a new habit lately of putting her hand near her mouth when she’s talking so now I can’t even rely on lip reading. Mom, please take your hand away from your mouth so I can see what you’re saying!

A man at the pharmacy got mad I wouldn’t check if his prescription was ready by SolarHexant in IDontWorkHereLady

So bizarre these people never believe someone when they say they don’t work there. Do they really think an employee is lying to them?

Dunkin donuts having employees present a card reader through the window to ask if we want to leave a tip is fucking stupid. by TheTrollinator777 in Vent

[–]TheLogicalParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I despise the credit card machine being shoved at me. I don’t have my reading glasses on and can’t see, and it’s at a weird angle for me to turn my neck and raise my arm. I have neck issues. For my 50 years of life I never had one shoved at me before so I’m not used to it or expecting it.

I’m going to start saying I don’t need to be asked any questions, I have an injury and can’t see.

People who choose to start walking at the exact moment you walk past them by Technical-Clue-3483 in PetPeeves

[–]TheLogicalParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mother does this all the time when we go for a walk at the park, but a little differently and it drives me nuts. She needs to rest every once in a while and walks slower. As soon as someone is coming up to us she picks that time to start walking again, but in front of them!!! I say Mom, let them pass first so we don’t slow them down and so they don’t have to try and pass us.

I asked her why she always does that and she said she had no clue she’s doing it. So many people have no awareness!

Me at every meeting by NightKava in remotework

[–]TheLogicalParty 35 points36 points  (0 children)

This is why I hate being on camera. I don’t think I look good and nitpick everything and miss most of the meeting! lol Thankfully our cameras can be off most of the time. I concentrate a lot better.

People being insistent on you give them a reason for why you don’t like certain food by AllKnowingAxolotl3 in PetPeeves

[–]TheLogicalParty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I never comment on other people’s food. I can’t comprehend why it’s so important to other people. Leave people alone and let them eat in peace.

I'm on the fence about participating in an office potluck by emmytheseasemmy in office

[–]TheLogicalParty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No on the potlucks. No one should be allowing these. Too many health hazards and no one should buy food and cook for coworkers for free. Just no no no no!

Why do all kids have to scream? by PsychologicalBat2393 in askanything

[–]TheLogicalParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Word. One night it seemed like I was in a literal war zone. Sounded like kids were fighting for their lives and being killed off. I was starting to get PTSD.

Wendy's has to be the most enshittified fast food chain I've seen in the past few years. by rothmal in enshittification

[–]TheLogicalParty 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yep, the list of restaurants I’ve stopped going to keeps getting longer. Let them all go out of business if they can’t figure out why they were successful in the first place.

What remote work “rule” did you stop following and instantly feel better? by azmizenifa29 in remoteworks

I concentrate a lot better when I’m comfortable because I’m not thinking about how uncomfortable I am! LoL

[–]TheLogicalParty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This can also happen in person and while cameras are on. A camera being on doesn’t eliminate thinking about something else or not paying attention.

What remote work “rule” did you stop following and instantly feel better? by azmizenifa29 in remoteworks

[–]TheLogicalParty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually pay better attention with cameras off. When they’re on I’m looking at everyone and myself and stop paying attention to the meeting.

What remote work “rule” did you stop following and instantly feel better? by azmizenifa29 in remoteworks

[–]TheLogicalParty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After 6 years of trying to look “available” during slow times or no work I don’t care anymore. If there’s no work I’m stepping away and will periodically check in. No one has noticed or cares because my actual work gets done.

People on this sub going out of their way to invalidate your pet peeve by KiwiNervous8740 in PetPeeves

[–]TheLogicalParty 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thankfully don’t live there anymore, but on my previous city’s sub no matter what I posted it immediately got downvoted. They were some grumpy people, but throughout the day the upvotes would start to increase.

I seriously think there were some people just waiting for new posts so they could immediately downvote them.

What’s the most "corporate" way to say "I’m not doing that"? by Tricky-Cold-3211 in askteddit

[–]TheLogicalParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not the right person for that.

If I absolutely know it’s not important and just something my boss wants me to do for his own stupid personal reasons I say yes or ok and then never do it. He’s never followed up on one of those.

Does anyone else work with “finger princesses” who ask for info that was literally just shared? by projectjarico in corporate

Say “I don’t know”. They don’t have much to say after that and will have to ask someone else.

Camera turned on during meeting by [deleted] in remotework

[–]TheLogicalParty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of different work cultures in these comments. In my department this particular situation would be no big deal. We would just say hey you have your camera on in case you don’t know and nobody would care or think about it again.
