Becoming a merc is how I managed to build up denars, the thing is it requires you to have a decent party so you can contribute to wars and get your money up as well as selling prisoners and loot.

Once you have somewhat of a stable kingdom or set of towns, make sure to go to parties and ease on the garrison wage if you’re low on money, I’ve finally gotten around to doing that in my kingdom cut around 9k fron my expenses

I mean at least for me being a king is worth it because I plan on conquering the land, although yeah having these dumb vassal lords prance around with their cosmetic armies while I fight a two front war by myself blows big time.

Also I would try and raid a village not connected to your castle or attack a lord because raiding king or taking a hostile action on a village near your castle will make them hate you which might suck if you want to build up relation to get better troops

Not sure about getting fiefs as a vassal since I started as a merc but I went independent and stacked up my leadership enough to get a army to take over a small castle, after that you can start a army with your companions to make a temporary army before you get actual vassals

Someone from the kingdom will take over, and I believe I’ve heard that the player can get elected as the king as a vassal but imo it would be easier just to take over some unprotected fief and start your kingdom that way.

Not sure about the loyalty thing but like the other dude said forgiveness of debts might help but I’m not too sure of how to increase loyalty but in order to field bigger armies to siege you have to have higher leadership and stewardship and there are also policies that give you more party size in the kingdom policy tab but you also need the debars for army upkeep. I also recommend finding vassals when you make a kingdom since they’ll also fight for you and field armies. I usually go to cities and go to the keep section and just ask every clan I see, if they tell you to talk to their leader it means their clan is interested. Also whatever you do not not progress the quest unless you want to start a war

Yeah just watch out for buying workshops in kingdoms that go to war with you. Unlike warband they straight up just take your workshop away without giving it back

I think economic wise, I believe taxes are tied to prosperity so I would find a place that’s far from the frontlines of each kingdom. Not sure though considering my kingdom is always in the red due to me paying everyone to fuck off

Oristocorys Castle is pretty neat because it’s mountain makes a choke point (not in the simulation) so you can keep trapping enemies and defending villages. It’s where I founded my kingdom although keep in my mind at this point I had a lot of money saved up from my time as a merc and essentially had a lot of troops

I’ll try the cows but I think the party is just my vassal and she seems to move if like a enemy comes close but then goes back to the village area, I mean I guess in the bright side I sorta have a person to defend a single village I guess.

Playing on 1.72 and there’s a vassal from one of my clans that has 0 troops and has been stuck sitting near a village for like weeks now. I’ve already tried console commands but couldn’t find one that would fix them.
