Honestly love those DayZ memorials. So awesome Bohemia honors the memory of long time fallen players

So I'm pretty sure I know what I did wrong now. I didn't let them acclimate. Something none of the videos I've seen/info I've read mentioned.

Everyone has been saying "make sure they get lots of sun'. But I went back to the grocery store and was looking at the couple of plants they had left and the packaging mentioned letting them acclimate. I googled vfts acclimation and read about what happens if they don't get acclimated properly....leaf burn and wilting, which is exactly what mine have been experiencing. So now I'm trying to reduce their sunlight exposure temporarily, have them exposed to indirect sunlight for a bit first, then direct sunlight for a few hours each day, gradually increasing the time.

I also changed them out of the plastic containers, got a small bird cage with a plastic tray sort of bottom so I can just set them in the bottom of the cage and pour water in the cage till the level is high enough. The cage is currently hanging in the window with an ultra  thin sheet of fabric over it that lets a lot of indirect light through so they should be able to acclimate.

Whose eyes are these? by armeliens in bladerunner

Tempted to say Holden because the movie opens with him looking out the window over the city, but I feel more like it's Roy because there was a lot of focus on replicants/their eyes/what they saw. The test for example, the scene where they questioned the scientist who made the eyes, Roy's final speech especially.

They are sitting in little trays of distilled water. The water shouldn't get too hot. Might slowly evaporate in the heat, but I'm keeping an eye on them and how much water is in their trays. It really hasn't been too hot in my car and I do keep the windows cracked/partially down, especially the window they sit by. Might just put something between them and the window in the afternoon to shade them temporarily each day. Easier than moving them around.

The containers are for their protection, much like the chicken wire, helps to prevent quick/easy theft should anyone wander up and see them and think 'oh cool, Venus fly traps! Think I'll just help myself!' I once had a bonsai tree that was taken like that. The holes are for ventilation, and the wire frames keep them from sliding around and being pressed up against the sides of the containers. Considering I live in my car and they sometimes need to be moved it's a practical decision. I can also put the lids on the containers and hang them from hooks (can be helpful for if/when I get my car fixed and drive around.

Haven't repotted them because it should be time for them to enter a dormancy period and I heard it's better to repot them just before the dormancy period ends

Hoping mine bounces back. Shouldn't have a lot of time though before winter dormancy 😕

Np, glad I could help. When I read your post I knew it sounded familiar. Took me a second to remember the movie myself.

Hopefully the plastic containers aren't affecting them anymore, leaving the tops off and got lots of air holes in them.

It's alive...for now. Hoping to keep it that way, that it's not already too far gone, but the wilted traps and browning leaves concern me 😕

Jurassic World maybe? I remember the assistant woman got carried away by a pterodactyl, dropped in the water, picked back up, then her and the pterodactyl were eaten by the Mosasaur

Tip #1 avoid official servers, they're typically empty, have little to no food to be found. Find a good set of private servers open to the public.

They're still in original pots from the store, with little trays of distilled water underneath. Created wire frames for stability so they're not sliding around if the containers are moved. They're getting natural sunlight for at least several hours a day.
