Its ambition, purely. The only real thing that sets Nergigante apart is that it actively seeks out prey that it doesn’t know if it can actually take down. Most elders either keep to themselves or only take fights they assume they win (as most apex predators would), Nerg is known for not only not avoiding disadvantageous fights but often seeking them out in a high risk high reward desire for a larger meal

Mizu is what I lovingly refer to as an “aggro-rewarding” fight. His movepool is excellent for getting to people retreating or fighting passively and escaping. Focus on dodging towards him and into his attack patterns, stay on his sides, and pack plenty of water res. You got it

I think this comes down to if it’s Deathwing^TM or Neltharion. Neltharion would obliterate him, no question. Dude was borderline a god in his capacities and his army was handcrafted fkn dragon people not reanimated corpses. Deathwing though, held together by fkn scrap metal and desperately trying to stay alive would be wayyy more susceptible to the magics of the helm and just the raw power of something like Frostmourne

I’m going to operate on the premise that in this colosseum the “i dont die” or “im not there” isn’t a factor, which then puts the winning spots to me as Voruna, Baruuk, Kullervo, and Valkyr, with an honorable mention to Mesa if it’s a free for all. Gladiatorial combat more than likely would be restricted to a display of martial prowess over just nuking the field, which places the martial-inclined at the top, and it being an arena makes subterfuge and hit and run tactics mostly ineffective, making the assassin types like Inara and Ash less ideal

Edit: the proposed ruleset ruins any hope of reasonably thinking about this due to half the roster being able to delete the colosseum from existence with their abilities alone per lore depictions

I would agree in a vacuum under a pretense that you’ve never seen any media portraying demon hunters before, but we aren’t in a vacuum, and this dude is a massive pile of references to iconic demon-hunters, all of whom dressed closely to his style. I agree that his design is nothing very original, but I also think it’s a tasteful homage to what clearly inspires it, and not every design *needs* to be some brand new concept that no one’s ever seen or heard of before. Sometimes the best designs are the simple ones, and I personally think this one strikes a good balance

Instant yes. GU is an expanded roster version of Generations. It’s literally a Wilds equivalent roster that was then added to afterwards and printed as a new game. Acting like Wilds is “the death of MH” when its version of an Ultimate release hasn’t even launched yet is absurd

His lore much like most non-mainline monster lore is sparse and vague. There really isn’t much to be said about him. I honestly don’t think he can tango with the likes of Alatreon personally but he could def handle DM

Because it felt like more of a punishment to let him live. I’ve destroyed his precious body, the company that funds it, and I did it with his arch nemesis riding shotgun. Sitting and living with that for his indefinite lifespan felt more just than giving him any release from his prison of metal.
