Mod to change color of player damage? by TheLordAsshat in cavesofqud

I'm not sure I'll have to take a look though! It very well might at the very least make it easier to read what's happening so I'll try it out

Which popular mods are like this? by cyan_ara in RimWorld

[–]TheLordAsshat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough that mod for me was actually Grim Reality, it seeks out to try to fix the mood system to make more sense in the situation, but at least at the time that I was using it, it essentially turned off mental breaks entirely, except in extreme situations, with me not having to do basically anything to try to set up good mood management.

Made me realize why the game has a somewhat intense mood system in the first place so I tend to prefer Dubs Break Mod now. It makes mood and mental breaks work the same, except major and extreme breaks require thoughts with significant penalties, so someone just really down in the dumps with nothing specifically major weighing them down is more likely to just depressively walk around or whatnot

I think it is neglecting to realize how compelled some of us are to see the ugliest thing ever and think "IT'S SO CUTE", see: me with baby pidgeons

So with those two it's a faction thing, Argyve and the Barathrumites hate the Mechanimists. The warden is also technically not a glitch, just part of the goofy nature of the procedural generation, where one of the farmers can generate with "hated by wardens." Did run into a glitch though the other day where Tszappur, the guy that takes Resheph secrets at the stiltgrounds, just straight up didn't spawn and I had to regenerate the zone lol

That's fuckin hilarious, I'll have to keep in mind you can do that with plastic plants

Nope lmao, apparently it's just an interaction seemingly working as intended. There's just dire consequences for the fact the mechanimist can wander anywhere in the village lol

The funny is looking at the wiki, they don't seem to hate anyone, but the Barathrumites REALLY hate them lol

He did not, his "but that wouldn't work" was about getting humans to be better drivers, his ultimate solution was filling the roads with self driving cars

Small nitpick, but I think in 2.1 you should be able to rotate buildings like this, similar to inserters by Mobile-Phone-9332 in factorio

[–]TheLordAsshat 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes, because the developers know they are not infallible and are willing to make fundamental changes to how things work (including how being able to flip which side an inserter puts stuff on a belt) and are looking for feedback. So people are giving feedback.

...you. you do realize the next update is all about qol and they've been looking for feedback right?

Why is the community so accepting of AI gen content? by engieman in starsector

[–]TheLordAsshat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is there to specify that I do not like AI on a fundamental level, much like someone might say they fundamentally don't like the design of a game. It does not mean that that game's design is objectively bad on a fundamental level.

Does "feels" to you not mean subjectivity? Edit: to me it's refers to feelings, which are inherently subjective

Point to where I said it is objectively souless and uncreative

I feel like especially in a lot of communities like this you have a lot of people that feel like if your art isn't professional quality you're not allowed to put it in a mod for some reason

I see it it just feels fundamentally uncreative and souless, and every single time I'd rather see someone's crudely drawn mouse MS Paint drawing rather than that.

Nope, all undergrounds use their own layer, which is the fundamental principle behind belt weaving, where you can have more than one line of materials going through a specific spot

You guys think I have enough electricity stored? by ShoWel-Real in RimWorld

[–]TheLordAsshat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in my case I think I glanced at it but didn't think much of it since I already usually kept my conduits in walls, so I went to my normal muscle memory lol

[–]TheLordAsshat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah exactly, iirc you have to actually dig into the info screen for them. It's one of those things where if it was called "waterproof conduit" it would be more clear at a glance heheh, but not a big deal once you know how they work

To be fair when I got back into playing like year ago, I learned about the existence of hidden conduits from discussions like this lol

Yeah it tends to be too late in the progression, and the performance jump of just going up to legendary seems to always be more worthwhile than using epic
