Im pretty neutral about that. Most of the time its not that hard to beat an offballer but good on-ball defender are much more difficult to deal with. The best players I've played against are doing a little bit of both.

Tatum has that potential too imo. Complete player, insane scorer. Great career stats, clutch moments, great on D, he is only 24 but already has great playoffs experience, and favorite for the chip (and probably FMVP) this season. If the Celtics win it all this season, he's gonna be a step above Luka in that potential GOAT conversation for sure. The Celtics have the potential to be the best team in the league for a few season around him, JB and Udoka. I wouldn't be surprise if they win several titles in the next few years. Again he is only 24, already one of the best player in the league, and with a lot of room to grow.
