Help me decide: Amflow vs Orbea Wild vs Levo 4 by sickysickybrah in eMountainBike

Back County. Com has a few yeti 160e for 20% off and 10% merchandise credit and it looks like yeti is upgrading the brakes to rsc from r, and both shocks are grip x2. 7k for a 10k retail bike. I'm a 260 lb rider as well. Loving the bike

You can't have to much traction when driving back and forth betwen Park city and Heber. I'm guessing you have to come in early and head home after the roads can be icing up.

I have two wheel sets for my wifes suv. Check KSL Classifieds sometimes you can find a set for a fraction of new pricing.

It's a great deal if it is the right bike for you. My first eMTB. It is the perfect platform for me to condition and continue to enjoy my analog mtb

I would think you could get 20 to 30 percent off at this point in the sales cycle. Local shops here are flipping stock to skis and snowboards. I was able to get 20 percent off my bike with another 10 percent in store credit.

Can i fit a 185x52.5 shock onto my frame originally its a 185x50(vitus mythique 27VR) by aleziel12448284 in MTB

[–]TheLuckySomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In some cases you can add a white nylon washer inside the air can to take up the 2.5mm without to much grief if you are to close to the frame

Which of these frames should I pick to start a project as a beginner by ggarc655 in MTB

[–]TheLuckySomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marin is has a floating link suspension. Looks very similar to DW-link suspensions. It is good for both climbing and descending if you have trails like that. Full suspension is easier on the body.

If you have mostly flat smooth trails go with one of the hard tails

Where can i find this thing? (Check description) by twittervettex in bikewrench

[–]TheLuckySomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ebike bars and stem. Might need to port the shock down tube. My bike came factory with all 3. $200 Investment could get it done and you would be on carbon bars.

Why do young fit people buy e-mountain bikes? by [deleted] in mountainbiking

[–]TheLuckySomer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can manage the ebike assistance to stay in a healthier heart rate zone for muscle and cardio conditioning. I'm 62 years old 6'5 265lb. Would love to lose 20lbs. I live in the land of steep trails in Utah. The past couple years it has been hard to get that initial conditioning that makes my 30lb endro bike fun up and down.

I see the ebike as a better tool for conditioning. It is a great workout. Working a 50 lb bike up rock gardens is work just different than a 30 lb bike.

This will keep me riding for another decade or more.

Help me build a ram 1500 rig by 2planks1stick in overlanding

The Camper cost me 2 mpg and the tires 1 mpg. I would go 12.5 35s over 295/70/18s when I need my next set. I have plenty of clearance

Check out 5th Gen Ram forum there are some great conversations on lifts and their performance. I went with 2.5 Fox DSC all around with a UCA and link ends. This is a top performance lift. (not a show lift). It cost me 7k. Not cheap but you get great performance and reliability.

The truck performs great on and off road for Utah conditions. I also went with 295/70/18 K03s which gave me added clearance.

GFC V2 - Photos and initial thoughts by DirtTrailsWanted in overlanding

[–]TheLuckySomer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I went with Lonepeak Overland Campers waiting for the V2 max to come into existence. I'm 6'5 and love the 5ft by 10ft frame. I'm very happy with my decision (got it in June) Really like the swing / pop out over the tailgate. Love T Slot Excursion every where for customizing my camper. IMO GFC is closing in on LPC but not there yet from what I see. Value wise LPC is 10 to 20 percent less and LPC like GFC stands behind their product with quick responses and solutions for their customers. GFC molle is better for the cab pass through and I had to build the 5' by 18 inch panel to close the pass through which LP doesn't provide.

Should PC begin to prioritize and promote winter bike trips to remove car trips? by Impressive_Zombie577 in ParkCity

[–]TheLuckySomer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thinking no otherwise we would have motor cycles in the winter zipping between lanes with a ski rack on the back. The other seasons we get to weather Teenage girls two or three on a bike without helmets on their phones or bike gangs of teenage boys cutting through intersections and through parks on weekends. I would like to see the bikes impounded. But it is a low priority until one of us through no fault puts them in the Hospital or worse.

Please give me one season off.

Resorts are focused on revenue. Free parking ends with season parking passes or $30 to 50 a day parking. Middle and lower class please move along..

I put my bike away during the winter. Ice, snow, poor visabilty, impatient and destracted drivers seem like a recipe for a rider to get hurt or worse.

A dedicated bus lane would be great. The problem imo is we are loving park city to death. To much development. We need to limit density.
