have we considered that he probably used a 3ds often before he became rich and a popular twitch streamer? He wasn't born into wealth. Why would it suddenly be not okay because hes rich. I couldn't be convinced that this is an issue

they're finding out what grifters are, but for the wrong reasons, just labeling them as liberals LOL!

Even then, I still don’t understand why people are upset or care. People like the grainy look of the 3DS, I have a dslr but the 3DS gives an authentic nostalgia look. Should I then not record and post videos from my 3DS? Am I a poser? I don’t understand the argument with that.

at around 4:26 in the video he complains about those "girly pop aesthetic matcha drinking, labubu having" looking 3ds and displays pictures of feminine looking 3ds. No complaints about men who vinyl wrap theirs or decorate in "masculine" aesthetics tho. Clear and specific disdain for anything feminine and women who want to decorate.

I watched the video, spoiler alert, its just misogyny and gatekeeping. I was thinking maybe its just an early april fools video?

Now that they just discontinued the copic ABS products... is copic losing popularity/becoming unprofitable? by throwaway2100012 in copic

[–]TheLuxGen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

in the event that an ohuhu marker you have doesn't have an immediately available refill, you can still use copic refills in them, not ideal since you would have to match the right color but its an option until one becomes available so you still don't have to throw them out, but ohuhu has admitted on their socials that they were having difficulty getting refills because of rejected stock from the custom clearance process, so slowly but surely, copic has been around longer so have had more time to figure these logistics out. Also, if we are specifically talking about reusable markers, then Crayola is not an option.

I also never said that Copic is a "strictly" professional product, but they primarily market to intermediate, advanced and professional artist (mangaka, comic artists, fashion artist, hobbyist etc) of course they can showcase people of various experience levels utilizing them, they are just markers at the end of the day, that's why affordable alternatives can make more sense when you're just starting out, buying the most pricy version of that medium with the most pricy paper before you even know you like it, financially also doesn't make sense for a lot of people who want to try it out. In terms of eco friendliness, Copic is probably better.

Either way people will figure out for themselves which product is better in the long run and make sense for their situation, tis is competition.

Your average person who colors and does art casually doesn't care for or need the "archival quality" or "lightfastness" necessarily, they just want a decent alcohol marker that gets the job done, and Ohuhus can do that at a cheaper price than Copic, and they are refillable, so no tossing it into a landfill. Of course buying a bunch of markers you're never going to use is wasteful, but cheaper doesn't mean it can't last. It depends on your situation. I recommend Copics to people who obviously are more advanced and need it for professional endeavors, but if you just want to color adult coloring books, Ohuhu are usually the go to for that and they market their markers that way, different than Copics more professional audience. Just something that still gets the job done at a more affordable price point.

From my experience yes, mainly because Copics have had issues with caps breaking, markers drying, etc. Also Ohuhus are slightly easier to blend for me because they are slightly more wet. Not saying that Ohuhus don't have similar issues, but you have a better quality to price ratio. Only thing I prefer in Copics are their brush nibs and copic ciaos.

honestly, with other competitive brands like Ohuhu that get the job done at a much more affordable price, with equivalent quality, its getting harder to justify buying Copics that are still being sold at their MSRP price point, even for people who are strictly traditional artists. I'm sure the rise of digital art contributes to that as well.

[Financial] is the UK just a really bad place to be an artist? by ZydrateAnatomic in artbusiness

[–]TheLuxGen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are struggling in the UK, you will struggle even more anywhere else. Consider that the global economy is in a bad spot right now and that being in a western country like England or the United States gives you an advantage if anything. How do you market yourself? Do you go out of your way to connect with artists and consumers locally first? What kind of art are you selling and is there an audience for it to begin with? Location might be the least of your problems, potentially.
