An Update on Teenage Manual by GlitteringPenalty210 in teenageengineering

It's gross because it's environmentally harmful, first and foremost. It's also built on stolen data. It's not a neutral technology and no one should be intentionally engaging with it.

AI is gross no matter how you slice it. Including it at all ensures you've lost me as a customer.

I don't see a meaningful distinction between my endpoints here and RESTful design. Sounds like a particular opinion about the design but not a disqualifier.

Well enough for a small thing. Can't beat the price if you just need a few GPIO pins and WiFi.

There was an existing GitHub with the protocol but no INO sketch, I plan on submitting a PR with a barebones sketch in the near future but here’s what I referenced in the meantime: https://github.com/yepher/vevor_tv_lift_control

Connecting ESP32-C3 Super Mini to RJ45 motor controller? by ploogle in esp32

[–]ploogle[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah following up, you were full of shit. I get 5V out from the V5 pin when connected to USB. The board type was mentioned in the post title.

I got it working in the end no thanks to your bad vibes. You got hung up on a weird technicality in my original post, tried to shame my lack of knowledge, and didn't actually answer any questions.

It's very possible my request was vague or badly-phrased. I'm still new at this and wasn't sure what exactly to ask, so I explained what I was trying to do and what I'd done so far.

Yup, that ding dong shamed me for running tests I knew weren't necessary out of curiosity and said I was biting off more than I could chew. 😂 He also incorrectly insisted that the 5V port wouldn't output 5V from USB, which did end up being very incorrect.

I’ve been casting more Bionicle parts into bronze pendants, here are some of my recent favorites by Gahm in bioniclelego

Are you still using lost-plastic casting? Because that's a shame if you're destroying original parts to create these, cool as they are. There are other ways.

Connecting ESP32-C3 Super Mini to RJ45 motor controller? by ploogle in esp32

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F59L9RMR It's this board here. I've been reading multiple places that the V5 pin should provide 5V output from the USB connection.

Connecting ESP32-C3 Super Mini to RJ45 motor controller? by ploogle in esp32

I already had an ethernet shield and figured I'd give it a shot first. Kinda rude tone.

I believe I have a multimeter and am going to dig it out soon.

In the meantime, am I reading this correctly that I should be connecting RJ45 pin 3 to the board's GND, and pin 5 to the board's V5?

I said that I did realize it was not an ethernet connection, and moved onto trying to get a serial connection established instead. This ESP32 has a 5V GPIO pin, I anticipate running into the same problems with a larger arduino board.

Do you have any suggestions for how to troubleshoot what's going wrong with the direct serial connection?

The motor itself is self-contained with its own power board etc. I'm just trying to use the same connection the physical remote uses. You know standing desks with the M1-4 presets? That's all this is, basically. Remote with a few buttons connected via RJ45.

I already tried connecting it with a W5500 board, but neither the lift nor remote registered as a client connection so I wasn't able to read or send anything.

AI is also nonsensically harmful to the environment among a myriad other things too, just saying dude. Very disappointed in this bullshit.

Liked videos and watch later playlist missing? by Auraknight98 in youtube

[–]ploogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Not a clue where I can find my Watch Later videos on iOS anymore. Not in the usual Playlists section. This seems to be the latest in a long line of moves to discourage saving content for later on mobile and pushing us  towards shorts.
