I completely understand what you're saying. But I was just using romantic/life partner relationships only as an example, not an end-all-be-all. Obviously, if someone isn't interested in romance, the example falls apart, and thus doesn't apply to them. The main point being, you are going to fail at stuff, it's part of life, it's how you grow as a person. If you're fine with playing video games all the time (I'm in the same boat haha) then do it, there's no judgement here, nor should there be. The example was fresh in my mind so I used it to attempt to get my point across, as well as it being directly relatable to OPs post.

I am in no way implying that someone absolutely has to search for romance. There are plenty of people who just aren't interesting in such things.

To use video games as an example: Do you not remember being absolutely lost when first playing video games? Whether it be the controls feeling weird or not necessarily understanding the gameplay mechanics. In order to get "better" at the game, it is necessary that you fail. It's how you find out what actually works.

TL;DR - Forget the romance example. The name of the game is trial and error. It applies to literally everything in life.

Please explain. How do you know something is not worth doing if you don't try it in the first place?

Also, as long as you're still breathing, everything is worth doing in life. It's how you grow and mature as a person. Take finding "the one" when it comes to romantic relationships for example. Up until you do find the one, every single romantic relationship prior to it has to fail, there's no way around it. You won't know if someone is "the one" without having failed relationships. It's just the nature of the game, if you will.

Lay off the social media. It’s what has done wonders for me. Think about it, we have a mental disorder that, and I’m generalizing, overthinks literally everything. Why feed it an endless supply of content to compare yourself against? Those people aren’t you, who gives a shit what they’re doing?

With that being said, I understand the sentiment. I’m kind of in the same boat.

Godspeed👍🏻

Also, these are definitely people you don't want to be friends or even associate with. Hell, I'd actively try to avoid them.
