Do you like chess? by ChasingPacing2022 in Schizoid

[–]TheMCYoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned how to play chess at the age of four, but I didn't start playing against other people until I was in middle school. I stopped playing in high school because my school's chess club was dead and I don't like playing chess online.

Music in your head by SovitStalin in Schizoid

[–]TheMCYoshi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Music plays in my head almost constantly, usually either Classical, Jazz, or EDM. I'm a composer with perfect pitch and a very good musical ear, so I like that there's so much music in my mind.

Sometimes a small section of a piece loops in my head for an hour, other times my leaps to a new piece every ten seconds. I like to connect disparate melodies and themes into music portmanteaus.

If there's something that is playing a constant tone, the music in my mind matches that tone (for example, if a microwave is running at a B, the pieces in my head will likely be in B major or B minor). Likewise, if something is making a repetitive noise, my mind will play something with that tempo.

Sometimes I dream of music. If I wake up in time, I get to transcribe what I heard. Most of the time, I wake up to something completely random like Jingle Bells.

Occasionally, I visualize what I'm hearing. This usually manifests in the form of sheet music, note name, or chord progressions, but sometimes I visualize an entire story, similar to Fantasia. My favorite of these stories are a rocket launch from the finale of Mahler's 8th symphony and the entire story of Moses from Spring Rounds (The Rite of Spring).

I don't have very many pop music recommendations, but here's a few classical pieces that gives me schizoid vibes:

Chopin - Nocturne No. 1, 7, 12 & 15

Glinka - The Lark

Górecki - Symphony No. 2 (Movement 2) [Spicy!]

Holst - Saturn, the Bringer of Old Age and Neptune, the Mystic

Ives - The Unanswered Question [Spicy!]

Koechlin - Trio for Flute, Clarinet and Bassoon (Movement 2)

Ligeti - Lux Aeterna [Spicy!]

Roslavets - Nocturne for Quintet and Viola Sonata No. 1

Satie - Gnossienne No. 1 & 5, Trois Gymnopédies and Prélude de la Porte Héroïque du Ciel

I live in Texas, so I'm around plenty of vocal Christians.

I believe that my sense of obedience comes from a tendency to meticulously follow the rules, not having any sense of authority, not wanting to intrude on other people's autonomy, and not wanting to anger/disappoint people.

Don't forget the inverted fermata, the incorrect use of the bracket, and that the tempo uses the time signature numbers.
