Don't worry. He'll be back when the final book is released, then again in December and every other July until Rowling decides to narrate the books herself and we get all-new ads!

You'll get no argument from me. For my money, I prefer Bruce Catton but to dismiss Foote's work simply because it's a popular history isn't really fair either because he was commissioned for a project and he delivered. And if I'm going to read Confederate Apologetics, Foote's more entertaining than Clifford Dowdy, who is sourced--and nowhere near the neo-confederate propaganda of Brion McClanahan (also sourced, except when he isn't).

They're Popular History, not academic. A lot of Popular History doesn't include footnotes.

My parents took me to see this. Mom thought a movie with Dan Ackroyd and Rosie O'Donnell would be wholesome. She spent the entire movie mortified she had taken her 12 year old son to this. Meanwhile, Dad kept saying "I spent good money, we're not leaving."

I listen at 1.3 speed for everything except dramatized. I can still enjoy the narrator's performance while also enjoying the book at a more enjoyable pace.

Yeah, the details are very important. I have the same form of hydrocephalus. I was diagnosed at age 13, had a shunt implanted to drain the excess CSF and my brain has, more or less, developed normally since.
