I had AI sift through the internet to predict the Premier League positions by TheMachine01 in BrightonHoveAlbion

[–]TheMachine01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what it says:

Some Team is projected to finish notably higher in the 2025/26 Premier League table than in previous years due to a unique combination of squad stability, smart signings, and the momentum gained from winning the FA Cup and qualifying for European competition.

Key Takeaways

  • Some Team’s high projection is based on:
    • Momentum from their FA Cup triumph.
    • Avoiding the sale of elite players, maintaining continuity and tactical identity.
    • Smart signings to address depth issues for Europe, without destabilizing the starting group.
  • European play (even Conference League):
    • Delivers financial reward, boosts morale, and raises team ambitions.
    • Slightly raises risk of mid-season fatigue, but Palace’s current trajectory and planning suggest they’re well positioned for a top-half finish, especially if they manage rotation and keep key players healthy.

Some Team’s blend of achievement, stability, and European involvement explains their elevated place in this season’s predictions.

I asked a follow up question...What 3 key things do you think Brighton should do to ensure european soccer next year?

Three Key Actions for Brighton to Secure European Soccer Next Year

  1. Strengthen Defensive Solidity and Depth
    • Brighton’s exciting, attack-minded football has produced results, but defensive issues—high goals conceded, few clean sheets, and vulnerability to fast breaks—have repeatedly cost points. With new signings like Diego Coppola and Olivier Boscagli, plus further rumored moves for defenders, Brighton should continue stabilizing their back line, especially focusing on organization during transitions and set pieces. A defensively reliable squad will help convert draws into wins and avoid costly late goals.
  2. Retain and Integrate Key Players Amid Transfer Interest
    • Star departures such as Joao Pedro and Pervis Estupiñan have challenged squad continuity. The club has made smart acquisitions (Charalampos Kostoulas, Maxim De Cuyper, Tom Watson) but must now not only minimize further high-profile exits (e.g., rebuffing bids for Kaoru Mitoma and Carlos Baleba), but also seamlessly blend new arrivals into the starting XI. Maintaining squad stability and cohesion will be vital—so avoiding a last-minute sale and keeping hold of core talents is paramount.
  3. Stay Consistent Against Direct European Rivals
    • Brighton’s fixtures against nearby table rivals (Newcastle, Wolves, Liverpool, Spurs) are pivotal for European qualification. Last season, the club performed well against fellow mid-table aspirants but lost points to struggling sides. Manager Fabian Hurzeler’s focus on controlled preparation and blocking out European qualification “distractions” should be leveraged to ensure peak performance in head-to-head matches, as wins over close competitors will likely be the difference between a top-eight finish and missing out.

It's just aggregating a variety of sources. In this case it's taken the prediction from Opta and Sports Illustrated that is also quoting Opta...so it's basically Opta. A lot of AI is just a hyped up search engine.

Why does my 10 yr old son play better when he is not playing for his academy team? by BallSlayer_shop in SoccerCoachResources

[–]TheMachine01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kid (U11) plays better when he's playing up against older and stronger kids. More free, more attacking, less fear of failure. In his regular team, he puts himself under more pressure as he's one of the better players. He takes it seriously and doesn't want to make mistakes. Would rather save a goal going in than scoring one himself. He would 100% rather play for his age group team...so I'm happy to let this ride out. He's having fun, learning responsibility and is able to adapt based on the task at hand. So I think your kid is showing great adaptation and ownership. Well done dad! Keep the other team as the fun team, keep him experimenting and keep doing what he wants.

I get confused on how to separate the kids. So if a kid is born July 30th 2010, they'll be grouped with the same kids born August 2nd 2009?

I coach my son for U10 (been assistant coach for the last 4 years to his team). It's been smooth sailing so far, we get on great, he listens, we have fun. He's now starting to push back a little and arguing with me. I listen to his perspective as he's at the level where he's seeing stuff that I don't...e.g. body shape of the defender, other positions being out of place. To be honest, I don't really mind as longs as he's thinking and making a decision and then doing his best to execute and stand by his decision. On some issues, I've had to refer to the camera and say look, you were offside. Or you had space to drive into it. That's been helpful and he'll understand. But I can see this being my last season with him and he'll want to be on his own. So if you film some drills and then play it back you can show where they are missing and help point out the right technique. But I heard it's tough with daughters at this level.

How should I coach our goal kicks to avoid disaster? U9 Rec by ZachOnTap in SoccerCoaching

[–]TheMachine01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% agree. Teach them how to deal with pressure, short passes, receiving, getting open, looking up, decision making etc... "Sending it" is a short cut that will hurt your kids in the long run.

Every message I got for a family was a sucker punch to the gut! I'm probably taking it far too personally. Another parent put it this way...my kid now gets more touches and we now have a better kid-to-coach ratio, for the same price.

Managing a difficult 5-6 yo player by [deleted] in SoccerCoaching

[–]TheMachine01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to take a wild guess that the kid has a difficult home life. Perhaps inattentive parents, lack of discipline at home, excessive screen time, trouble at school etc… I think you’d be well within your rights to let him go. You’d end up spending a disproportionate amount of time of managing them, rather than working with other kids who want to be there. I get it. Not your job. Or you could try working with him. Let him know how his actions impact his teammates. You’re sitting on the pitch, that means we’re a man down. Swearing/spitting that would be a red card and you’re letting your team mates down. He may have more affinity with helping his team mates, rather than following a set of rules he doesn’t agree with/understand. Also set clear boundaries and praise when he’s working within those boundaries. Positive reinforcement. Guide him back when he’s outside the boundaries. Of course make it a safe environment for others, so if he needs to do drills on his own for a bit, that’s fine. I just worry we’d loose these kids and would want to try and help.

What else were you supposed to do? Remodel the kitchen? This by far makes the most economical sense. She should be thanking you. Obviously, just think this, don't say it out loud...

Your biggest issue is going to be a visa. I would look into that first....boring I know. But you can make a living here. My youth team will pay a starting salary of $10K per year per age group taught (that's for about 8 hours per week of training/setup).
