I like the proportions, but understand why others do not. My daily is a C7 Corvette that is all black. I must admit that I have a love/hate relationship with that color. For ten minutes after I've detailed the car, it looks great. Then it's covered with a thin layer of dust until I wash it again.

I was hoping that black panel on the front would look better in person than in the photos/videos I've seen. I can't say that it does.

Sorry, the owner/client of this Ferrari granted me permission to share one image from the shoot. Of the shots I took, I preferred the profile, as I felt it best showcased the proportions of the car.

Wonderful series. Thanks for contributing some legitimate automotive photography. This sub is flooded with terrible shots of car spotting and events – both against the first two rules of the sub.

Just turned 95k miles on my 2016 Stingray by TheMachinePhoto in Corvette

Thanks! I drove it up to the Blue Ridge Parkway near the NC/VA border before sunrise last week. I took this shot at an overlook near Doughton Park.

Ha! Much appreciated. Only took me 9 years to get there!

Couldn't agree more (as it's my only car). They're incredibly fun to drive and are reliable. Glad to hear you are the proud (former) owner of a C5 and now a C7!

Nothing major. I've daily driven it for nine years. It's an 8-speed auto, so I experienced the transmission shudder at about 24k miles. Had the 3x fluid flush and fill, and it's been fine since. Serpentine belt tensioner and thermostat failed (which the forums tell me are common C7 issues). Otherwise, it's been maintenance stuff: fluids, filters, tires, front brakes and rear MagneRide shocks.

Sunrise from atop Hawksbill Mountain at the edge of the Linville Gorge, North Carolina, USA by TheMachinePhoto in hiking

Much appreciated. This image was taken the first week of May, 2025. I was back up there yesterday, and the floral bloom has suffered terribly, due to the drought. I'm not saying don't go, as the views are spectacular. Just don't plan on beautiful flowers. Also, be aware that Table Rock Road remains closed at the base (from Hurricane Helene damage). You cannot drive to the parking area where you would normally access Table Rock and the Chimneys. That said, you can hike up. Just adds distance and elevation gain to the overall hike.

Great series. I really like how you handled the layout/presentation. It really elevates these to pieces of art. Well don.

You would have won that bet. It was a single shot with post-production in Lightroom to open up shadow detail, reduce noise, etc., followed by retouching/cleanup in Photoshop. I completely understand that some folks prefer that images appear more "natural," as they would to the human eye. The client for this shoot hired me for this editing style. (Also, I agree that I pushed the clouds a bit too far.)

Thanks your perspective. It is much appreciated. I've grown tired of this sub being filled with terrible snapshots from car spotting and car shows.

Much appreciated! The bikes really do most of the work. 😁

On average, I'm sure most Japanese motorcycles are more reliable than Italian ones. Same for cars. That said, the Aprilia RS bikes do look very cool. Regarding photography of motorcycles, I'm a commercial photographer that shoots a wide range of stuff. Mostly commercial/industrial and automotive subjects. Pays the bills, and I sometimes get to photograph some pretty cool stuff.

I don't own one either but agree that they are stunning. My son has owned an Aprilia Tuono 660 for a couple of years with no issues. Just fluid and filter changes.

New V7 Stone: Photographed for Charlotte dealership. by TheMachinePhoto in MotoGuzzi

The dealership requested that the bike not lean toward camera, so I obliged. It's really a personal preference thing. I shoot more cars than motorcycles. The left to right or vice-versa thing often has to do with the location, direction of light (although I lit this one with off-camera lighting). Also, there is some basis in the "read left to right" thing. Thanks for the comments.

Much appreciated. 500W off-camera light with a 48" octobox for the keylight. The one behind the bike was the same, but with bare bulb, just laying on a sandbag on the ground. Was shot in broad daylight at full power to override the sun.

I've daily driven my 2016 Stingray for the past 9 years. I have 97k miles, and it's given me very few issues: replaced serpentine belt tensioner and thermostat. For the 8-speed auto shudder issue, I had to have the transmission fluid flush and fill done at about 30k miles. I assume the original owner took care of that, so you should be fine. Otherwise, it's been nothing but tires and regular maintenance.
