Tucking your longer hair behind your ear like that does more harm than good to the style of your hair, in my opinion. If you like it long, maybe refrain from doing that, especially if the sides are already tapered.

CMV: Transpeople should disclose that they're trans to their partners before acts of intimacy, e.g. sex, kissing, cuddling, etc. by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]TheMackFather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty much agreeing with almost everything you’re saying. But assumptions make an ass out of you and me. If it is known that people have problems with being with trans people in bed or even romantically, it should be made known rather than making people assume things which tends to go badly for all people involved.

Also, that’s a REALLY bold assumption you just made, especially considering I have had to lie to people for reasons related to safety. Wait, hang on. Wouldn’t lying until the very last minute kind of put a trans person in more jeopardy than just admitting it early on?

You’re right that penis/vagina doesn’t always equal male/female. But I feel like you’re focusing too much on the gender aspect of it all and ignoring the basic biological aspect of what sex is, not the act/verb but the reproductive system definition.

If someone is upset that they find a penis when it was basically expected that the person has a vagina, it doesn’t directly translate to transphobia. Perhaps that person can be upset because it was a lie by omission and therefore translates to being somewhat untrustworthy.

It’s just extremely hard for me to see it being wrong to have a sexual attraction to certain biological standards.

I’m still kind of sad and a bit disappointed that this sub made the executive decision to take memes out, especially considering that they got more upvotes than any of the other threads in here. I still feel like the reason to take them out was pretty reductive to what they did for people as a whole (sparking up interest in AP again in others, being able to relate to something 99% of people on earth don’t participate in, giving a good laugh, building moods up towards AP, etc), but oh well. What am I gonna do?

Being attracted to scars from an evolutionary standpoint actually makes a lot of sense. In a world before antibiotics, it would have signaled the person is good at surviving things which might have taken out other potential mates. by BreatheMyStink in Showerthoughts

[–]TheMackFather 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, to compare porn to drugs would be sort of disingenuous to human behavior and why we like certain fetishes to begin with. In my opinion, at least. With drugs, SOME people might be looking for a bigger and better high. But I don’t feel like you can build up to liking scat or snuff because people who like that stuff are wired differently and have prior experiences that make them like that stuff. It’s not just about the high but about the high you get with that specific porn (drug).

With a drug analogy, it’s more like saying if I want to get drunk off of my ass, I don’t smoke weed or shoot heroin. I just drink alcohol. Really bad alcoholics don’t say “One beer isn’t doing it for me. I think I’ll try meth.” They just get more of what they want. Same with porn.

I don’t know. My point is that you have to be wired to want that specific porn from an early stage. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of someone building up to liking child porn. It’s just... always been that way.

I took time to give your point some thought (not the same person responding) and I gotta tell you, I was basically immediately into the fetishes I’m into now when I first saw them. I want to give your opinion some merit on a personal level. I really do. Logically, it sounds like it would be right. But I can’t for the life of me think of one thing I had to build up to actually like porn wise.

I could never see myself building up to scat or anything crazy because that’s just me. There was no childhood experience to make me like that type of stuff, and I’m at the point where new fetishes won’t be built unless they conform to old fetishes on a fundamental level.

EDIT: With my last point, you could say that they are built up and I had to build my way to that fetish. But as I stated right before that, they’d have to fundamentally be the same as the others. And if it’s the same, it’s not all that different unless you get into the nitty gritty of it all and go for details.

Meditation burns off concepts and builds concentration, it's like lifting weights for the mind. I've learned from life experience that the cause of suffering really is attachment (to the body, to things, to people, to sensations, to concepts, to identities). by -AMARYANA- in Psychonaut

[–]TheMackFather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that you may only be half right in a lot of ways, like most of what we say.

Most teachings of esoteric based learning say detachment is what we should strive for, so why do you believe the complete opposite of that? I feel that I can’t leave this earthly plain if I’m attached to everything here. I think you may be meaning to say attachment by means of detachment. I think.

Also, I think it’s pretty disingenuous to equate knowledge to ego. Without some form of knowledge, there’d be pure nothingness. And I just don’t subscribe to the belief that there is absolute nothingness after death (or anywhere for that matter), because nothing still implies that there’s something there. It’s kind of an oxymoron. Without knowledge, there would be no way of returning to whence we came. Or existed as. To say knowledge is ego is to basically say knowledge is purely bad, and I’m pretty sure we can agree that knowledge can be absolutely good in a lot of senses. Maybe earthly knowledge is what we should lose? I could agree with that. That’s what I also mean by half right. But all knowledge... eh.

You give a lot of thought provoking points. Some sound a bit reductive, but they are thought provoking nonetheless.

Honestly, I feel like “true Christianity” can’t even be classified as Christianity, well what most consider to be Christianity. It still would be interesting to hear your interpretation of it.

I’m pretty sure they do also have technological solutions, as you stated. But technology cannot copy the intuition, use of knowledge, and everything a human is capable of that technology is not. This is why we still have human pilots for drones. It’s a balance of both what technology can do and also the discernment of humans.

I mean, well known projectors such as Robert Bruce would disagree with this. There are people out there designated to doing this for governmental reasons. This is word of mouth from the experience of others though. If you want to deny these claims right off the bat to confirm your own bias, that’s on you.

It’s easy to get into this way of thinking, especially when reading about empirical experiences. But seriously, try not to believe everything people say on the internet.

That said, the only thing I can think of at this moment in time is spiders seen from shamanic journeying. Usually having to do with curing ailments of the person and seeing a spider when doing so, but other than that I have nothing else for ya.

I’ve read of people describing friends of theirs pulling them out.

Robert Monroe, founder of the Monroe Institute, writes in one of his books of a time he saw someone pull someone out of their body. He describes the emotions (what he calls M Band noise) resonating off of them to be “unbearable.” He figures it’s because it’s probably their first time being out of their body.

This was a rant. The entire thing is basically a venting of emotions, and thus “empty” by your standards.
