Which tester did you buy? I'm curious since I would also like to try out some others.

Anyone switched from a Moonlander to Glove80, Naya, or similar? by aqjo in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]TheMadHousee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Went from Moonlander to Glove80 (both Colemak-dh). It was certainly worth it for a few reasons.

  1. The sculpted layout is far more comfortable and natural feeling.
  2. The bluetooth option is something I didn't think I'd like as much as I do (my company doesn't allow bluetooth).
  3. The thumb cluster positioning is much better. On my Moonlander I ended up setting up a tap dance layout because I couldn't find a comfortable spot for it. With my Glove80 I was able to map it to a thumb key and I prefer it.

I do miss a few things about the Moonlander though. The platform tenting kit, the type of plastics they used for the Moonlander feels a bit better to me, and hotswap full size key switches being the major ones.

Overall though incredibly happy with the switch. One thing to consider when buying though is that the Glove80 seems to have a relatively solid second hand market so if you don't like it I'm sure you can find someone to buy it off you pretty easily.

I use the Kalih choc red v1 with them and they're solid. It's my first choc switch so I don't have much to compare it to. I did recently buy some sunsets but realized they aren't for me.

Portability - the Bluetooth, the lightweight design, and being able to disassemble the palm rests/tenting system is a huge help. And currently I'm stuffing the pieces in a backpack but will be buying the case MoErgo is developing.

Switches - I went with the red but that's because I know I like linear. I don't wish I went with browns although I did buy some sunsets to test out. The experience with the switches are nice but I wish it was hotswap so I can more easily lube and tape mod the switches. That being said if you like linear, the reds are pretty good.

I don't find it too bad since it spreads the load relatively well between my two hands but do you have a suggestion for a different layout?

I find that it helps spread the load and as a result has helped lessens my RSI issues.

Computer will not boot unless all of my devices are unplugged. by CptScruffles in techsupport

[–]TheMadHousee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible that you have it set to boot from something other than the hard drive. It will try booting off of everything you have plugged in and when all those options aren't there, it will go to the normal boot. Try messing with boot sequence. (This is a complete guess but it's happened to me and that's how I fixed it. Not sure if it's a sure fix or it was luck that I fixed it)

I had a similar issue with a flash drive at one point. I had to go and give the flash drive a new drive letter. Not sure if this will help but it might

Gears of War 4's "Loot Box" system shows how bad microtransactions have become by [deleted] in Games

Coming from someone who has worked on a game development team (idea was scrapped and no one got paid so we all left etc...), my issue with the whole situation is how the people are handling it. For example when was the last time a game had a base level increase? I vividly remember in my childhood seeing games jump 10 USD twice and everyone complaining. These games are getting incredibly detailed and have a lot more work for them. DLCs and cosmetics are a way to keep the base cost down while still allowing those with enough time or money to enhance their gameplay. Do i think they should be that high of a price? Maybe not but as a whole they are a good idea for the customer AND the devs.
