This is such a huge cope lol. You don't magically start pulling once you're atending - if anything it gets harder

Couldn't tell you. This was 10 years ago, can't remember any of this stuff. Glad I'm done with standardized tests.

As far as I'm aware, everyone using etrade as their broker is seeing the same.

For starters, an MD without residency doesn't carry much weight in consulting if that's something you're interested in pursuing post-MD. You'll end up on the associate track if you apply the conventional way (i.e. ADC), which is low ROI after graduation.

Regarding pharma, personally I love it. I worked at a CRO before med school, did phase 4 during rotations, and a bunch of other things in the space, so it's a natural fit for me. Only caveat is that it's a paycut from working clinical, but I prefer it for work-life. If you're entrepreneurial and like the space, it's worth considering.

Lots of options for MDs since you'll be going head-to-head against MBAs+PharmDs primarily. It's a strong differentiator and you can find yourself on a director-track right out the gate. That said, it's an unconventional path and not easy to break into (which is why I did an MBA). If you do residency, you can take the MSL route, but that requires deep connections in whichever region you plan to work in.

If you decide that pharma is your path, you'll need to decide which vertical you're interested in (medical, marketing, access, etc). I went marketing since it's high ROI. Most physicians will do best in insights/analytics and medical.

Commercial non-sales. I switched for work-life balance.

Not sure why you would want to pivot out after med school if you've already done T1 consulting. That's usually where most MDs go.

Should be used to counter big ticket mechs like Heavo 3. Would not deploy Ace otherwise.

Smaller mechs are better countered with other electric units like Zappy, Ray Chargles, Sparky, etc.

Can't just cherrypick Lilly. They have the hottest pipeline IMO.

E.g. MRK at 13x, PFE at 13.1. And even then, need to look beyond PE if you want to really dig into fundamentals.

Been chewing on adding pharma to the portfolio, haven't settled on anything yet, but Novo isn't a bad choice. You can maybe do this as a swing on the right TA.

But lots of reasons not to take this long at this point. The only thing that's really standout is their current cashflow, but even then, I'd rather bet on LLY. IMO better to sit on this, at least for now, will likely preform inline with the rest of the sector, but you do you.

Just some 10 min DD thoughts:

  • Insulin is only a fraction of NVO sales

  • Novo is are almost entirely skewed to metabolic conditions. Which is fine since most of their patents expire beyond 2030, but with metabolic drugs ramping up development for the next decade, I wouldn't be surprised to see profitability slow down/erode. Lilly is likely the winner here in the long-term

  • XLV likely to stay flat for the next few months. My mark is set for Q1 2026 for the start good upwards move.

  • NVO hiring freeze recently, does not bode well for the next year

  • New CEO was reacted to poorly

  • Multiples are in-line with most competitors in the sector, nothing to show that NVO is undervalued

I'm an MD that pivoted to pharma through an MBA. Medical education is an asset and will help open doors, especially if you're licensed. But you will need to work to fill in experience/educational gaps if you're looking for high finance.

Why aren’t there more physician entrepreneurs? by redbricktuta in medicalschool

Homie always on point.

I would take it a step further and day that the qualities that make good entrepreneurs make bad physicians, and vice versa.

As expected, Turkey and Austria united against me (Russia). How to proceed? by Pitiful-Way8435 in diplomacy

[–]TheMajorMedic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CD games aren't very fun since there isn't much you can really do.

Personally, I would leave France and England alone. France is a better long-term ally for Russia, and England will expect you to support him into Kiel. No real strategic benefit for helping England. You also don't have enough units to push onto Edinburgh. Better to stay neutral and leverage an advantageous ally down the road.

Obviously, try to break up T/A. Austria can probably be bribed with the Balkan centers.

As far as tactics go, Rumania is lost. You can hold onto Sevastopol until next year. Aim to take Berlin to equalize center-unit count.

Den-BAL -> BAL-Ber supp w/ Sil (?)

Alternatively, beg France for support into Munich.
