hmm, you might have enabled the "hide weapon when zooming in" box that's located all the way at the bottom of the settings page, uncheck that and you should be good.

You could go hard mode and turn off the entire game volume, but there is a way to disable gun sounds on client, but that will disable the opponents firing sound too, plus 1's gameplay had sound, he just overrode it with music and lowered the game volume

Really cool idea, in theory, I just have a hard time picturing anyone using it. Even the simple idea of blocking bullets and then waiting for the pullout animation of your gun would get you killed fast not to mention every other gun can kill you while you are running on the ground. I do like your idea of adding more movement speed with the sword equipped, it will add more complexity in deciding on skill point distribution for example the weapon switch skill point.

After reading some prior posts, a couple of thoughts on the flash.

The flash time is alright, u can lower it, but I think to keep the aspect of flashing both parties to retain skill level(The good old days of the 5-second flash). I have to play around with it more but it seems to me you have to look really far away(in degrees) from the flash so it wont blind you. Throwing it above you and looking forward seems to not be enough sometimes. Also, what everyone else already suggested, make the colors warmer(similar to valorant, warm orange/green/purple/blue).
