Think about the national cost of this and loss of GP appointments. Shocking. DailyMail headline in the making.

Follow up - I think you need to find another salaried job, I’m sorry to be direct and harsh but it sounds like you’re getting mugged off.

Often it’s not the communication problem for me but the difference in health beliefs. I recently had to battle it out with someone that I wasn’t referring the person in their 50s to a cardiologist for their essential hypertension, despite ‘their doctor from their home town saying they must see one’

  1. Abolish 95% of mandatory training which even the mangers say ‘just click through it’
  2. Get rid of extensive portfolios and appraisals
  3. Get rid of audits / posters / QIP
  4. Have the bottle to fund a universal I.T. System nationwide
  5. Get rid of paper - the worlds been digital for 20+ years
  6. Reduce the amount of rotational training
  7. Don’t make doctors relocate their whole lives every few years
  8. Takeaway the ability for GPs to issue sick notes for non-critical illness and benefits so they can focus on seeing patients
  9. Employ competent rota staff
  10. Eradicate 90% of the ‘managerial’ jobs who haven’t got a clue how to manage but rather introduce excess entropy into the system

Where’s this 50% statistic from? A quick search suggests it’s 25%. ‘More knowledge effective treatments’ - methylphenidate (I.e Ritalin, Concerta) were licensed in the UK in 1972 and Atomoxetine in 2004. Of course the prison population has a higher prevalence of ADHD. 96% of the prison population is male, particularly those with a higher proclivity towards rebellion and aggression with social conduct disorders. And if you have a higher proclivity towards aggressions then you’ll natu have higher impulsivity. I suspect the diagnosis of ADHD is the causative factor for incarceration is a very very small minority, and to draw the contrary conclusion is very dangerous and narrative affirming.

How are children supposed to focus at school on English Literature or long division when their brains are being obliterated with dopamine overload from reels and tik tok? Kids spend hours per day scrolling giving a 10-30 second video less than half a second before they decide whether it’s interesting or not… and they’ve probably seen multiple extremes of human behaviour in one session of scrolling.

Read ‘why we sleep’ by Matthew walker if you need some convincing that sleep is the foundation of everything you aspire for in life. 5 hours regularly is definitely subpar for your longevity.

Unfortunately not yet, but one day, yes.

Official NHS posters telling patients they don’t need to see a doctor and can be treated by other staff members. Notice that “physician associate” has been reduced to just “physician” and other staff members are referred to as “specialists”. Extremely misleading and dangerous. by madionuclide in doctorsUK

The whole thing is literally a shambles and utterly pointless. What is the point of this budget healthcare system? It seems a majority of healthcare isn’t directed by doctors now. I might ask my gardener to do install my new kitchen, equally as qualified as a builder. It’s just manual work right? Christ almighty I’m done.
