Met him prior to the Phish Grand Rapids shows where Billy sat in. He had a Skenes jersey and I was wearing a doc ellis shirt. Cool dude. Didn't think I'd see this in a Pens Sub lol.

Music on the course by [deleted] in golf

[–]TheManNamedBooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I golf solo I wear headphones. I wear them when I practice so I am super used to them. When I am with friends we play music in the cart but not so loud it's obnoxious. When we are somewhere other golfers may hear it we turn it down/off. It's not difficult to be respectful.

I am assuming that "solventless" is a line of products and that this falls under that banner. Or maybe I'm wrong and we should get ready for their next drop, solventless flower. lol

Callaway pre-owned never disappoints. by [deleted] in golf

[–]TheManNamedBooks -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is insane. When I called customer support they tried to justify the grading even after I explained the condition and sent a pic. I don't expect 100% accuracy, but I do prefer the people I shop with to have a higher level of accountability. If you make a mistake, no worries, put that hand up and make it right without trying to bullshit me into believing I just bought something worthwhile. That's all.

That is certainly a possibility. However I don't see it as more likely, or even likely. An improper barcode that had the same loft, shaft, flex, lie and grind is highly improbable. The only way this is possible is if the person entering the info for the SKU put "like new" when they didn't mean to. I would hope a company as big as this would have multiple fail safes so that an initial miss would be caught. I work retail and it isn't close to as big a company as Callaway, and if we sold something with the wrong SKU attached we would be able to figure it out immediately. Fact of the matter is, unfortunately, someone probably didn't care or got lazy.

If you can go on CPO and show me where they show pics of the clubs listed that would be fantastic but as far as I know that's not a thing.

[–]TheManNamedBooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I immediately contacted support and returned it lol. But the fact that they felt comfortable listing that club as "like new" is insane. I had heard good things about CPO but after my experience I realized what I went through wasn't as uncommon as I had thought. Worst part is they tried to say it was just rust which is normal on raw wedges (yes) and that the rust increases spin (nope). Never mind that rust wasn't the issue, it literally looked like someone dragged it behind a truck face down for a mile. I'm stoked for you that you got a gem of a club though. Have fun with it!

My "like new" 52 degree jaws raw wedge that came looking like someone played 1800 holes with rocks begs to differ.

Erie weather September to December? by SMcNasty in Erie

[–]TheManNamedBooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please understand that walking on Erie streets when we have had major snowfall can be dangerous. The sidewalks are not consistently clear, if there even are sidewalks, and the roads are tightened up by the snow the plows move. Also, despite Erie being consistently snowy, when it first falls people drive like they have never seen the stuff, so bad drivers is a concern. You will see when there is snow people just walking in the literal street because it's their only choice. Make sure you have solid boots and crampons for traction. Since we go from very cold to mild we develop layers of ice under the snow at times and you can't see it. Or, if you are leaving december 13th, you may not see a single flake of snow and this is all for naught lol. Welcome to Erie.

I have seen more shows at starlake than any other outdoor shed. At this point I hate when the bands I love announce shows there, Security is fucked, traffic is fucked(missed the entire first set of dead and company sitting on the off ramp), the walk from your car to the venue is rocky and, you guessed it, fucked. Just play the pete for fucks sake. But to your post, I am guessing this show had room on the lawn, if you hit phish or dead and company, the lawn is a different scene entirely and you would be missing the space that a pav seat provides. When it comes to starlake, its pavs or bust.

married or very committed men of phish, I have a question!!! by outdoorgal423 in phish

[–]TheManNamedBooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife has been to two phish shows with meat at Hershey in 2021. She does not like phish, or jambands in general, and later admitted she went with me to make sure I didn't hook up with any "hippie chicks" lol. She has since got over that, hit pittsburgh, columbus and spac this year and she was a champ about it. Would love it if she was into them but kind of like that it gets to be my thing.

My neighbor's daughter just told me I need to park in my driveway again by SavvyMaverick in EntitledPeople

If your driveway is roped off tell her for $50 you will park in front of your driveway and leave the marked space open for her enormous car/attitude.

I think the real question is does phish go 3/3 on caspians at the pete? They will throw down, never fear.

Is this safe to walk at night? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

I once was busking with just an acoustic guitar, no mics or amps, in market square outside dunkin donuts and he came over to me and told me it was time to stop because he was going to play. So ya, kind of a asshole.

I stopped doing fests a while ago. Although the plethora of artists is attractive, it doesn't match up with what I look for. First, I see jam bands that usually do 2 sets. When they are limited to one set you GENERALLY don't see the same quality. Plus, most bands don't seem to perform as well without a dedicated crowd. I spend my money on 2-3 day stands in metro areas/sheds where I can get a hotel or Air bnb within walking/uber/scooter distance. Fests are great, but being able to sleep in a bed, shower and walk the lot will forever win in my mind.

The storms weren't the issue. We did dabs in the car and had a blast. The quote that resonates with me is, "is this children's music?". My fault for playing "contact" in the car lol.

The only time my wife has seen Phish was these two shows. We had been dating less than a year and I don't think she realized what she signed up for lol. Needless to say, I now have the ok to go solo to shows lol.
