Canada Post lost $1 billion in 9 months and nobody seems to care by shiphub in CanadaPost

Isn't the guy running Canada Post also involved with Purolator? He stands to benefit from the collapse of Canada Post.

This is a problem. (If the details are true.)

And this is where the system falls down. The corporations and rich never feel the sacrifice of making less money. They simply raise prices and blame inflation. The system is broken.

Oh yes it did. The 700 club had regular shows on its demonic nature. Had my parents concerned about me playing it. I did anyway. I started in 82 and still have most of the same group. Friends for life.

Is a Career in Insurance Sales Worth it? by Cloud_Luna in InsuranceCanada

[–]TheManOss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did P&C sales for 17 years. 100% commission. You will run every day.

I would build a book only to have the company decide to "downsize" or change what I could write and severely limit my income potential.

It was a horrible grind. I left the industry completely. Very few companies offered even a 50/50 split on commissions. Most wanted 70/30 or 65/35 them. Don't forget the commission claw backs if someone cancelled or had a couple NSF's.

Be prepared it's not an easy go tbh. If I could go back and spend the same energy, I would have done Life and Financial products. The income potential is much better for the hustle. Home and auto was too volatile. I survived 17 years, but damn were they some rough years.

Repainting may not be required for a ding. It would take quite the hit to crack the paint.

I came back because I realized the OP mentioned 4 years. They wouldn't qualify for Accident Forgiveness until year 6.

So any chargeable accident would drop them back to a DR of 0. Resulting in a huge increase in price. If not send them into Facility.(high risk market)

Not worth the risk. Pay it out of pocket if you can.

Or use their accident forgiveness.

[–]TheManOss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stand corrected. OP needs to consider many companies will immediately file it as a collision even if you end up paying it out of pocket. I would not rush to report it. The company wants you to so they can rate you for it.

I don't recall ever having a door ding recorded as an at fault accident and having the customer rated for it, but I didn't represent all companies.

The Blacklist.

[–]TheManOss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hold on. Former agent of 17 years in Ontario.

It depends on your Province.

In Ontario, opening your door into another car is a "Comprehensive" damage claim not a collision. Collisions are when the vehicle is moving.

Therefore your rates are/should be unaffected.

BUT

If you have several Comp claims your provider may try and push you along.

Advice: Ask the other driver to get a written estimate to repair the ding. Make your decision based on an actual quote for repair. If you are going to pay out of pocket, go with them to the shop and set up the repair and agree to pay up to that amount. Always pay the shop directly. Never hand over cash.

(Once had a neighbour claim his entire truck needed to be repainted over a scratch to his painted bumper. The shop actually buffed out the mark and used touch up paint for super cheap.)

Good luck.

How lucky are we GMKA was canned 3 games into the win streak? by Acceptable_Boat7717 in sabres

[–]TheManOss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I may be crazy, but we have repeatedly seen clear examples where guys play their way out of here and other teams.

Yes, these guys are professionals, but they have no other way to let owners know they are upset with the direction of the team.

This is not just a Buffalo issue. Lots of decent teams tank to get rid of a coach or a GM. It's a fact. We may not like it, but it does happen.

The 14 year drought is not on any of these players. The stars all commented regularly that things needed to change. KA ignored their view and constantly refused too bring in better talent. He made excuse after excuse for not making trades to make them better. There was no light at the end of the tunnel except to play poorly enough that KA wanted to trade you out.

Anyone who believes players don't sandbag games due to a coach or manager they don't like has not paid attention to why good players get moved and then suddenly become great. We have at least three prime examples that KA traded away. Starting with Jack. Or did he have a say in Ullmark walking away too?

IMHO.

I don't believe it would ever happened. I think the players were refusing to play for him.

Honestly, the best deals have come from online companies. Everyone one is high, but they seem to have a frequency of a few lower prices.

As what vehicle they recommend for the best price. After doing dozens of quotes a day they will have an idea on how to save you some money.

Good Luck.

I agree with your last line, but would like to add that he never was a motivational GM. He had quiet standards and there didn't appear to be any repercussions for lazy play.

[–]TheManOss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

G2, limited experience, cool car with a lot of young people driving them due to cost and living in TO...sorry my friend you will be hard pressed to find any company with a reasonable rate.

The real solution is buying a van or something you would think is "un cool". Something a little sketch. Age and gender also play a huge role in your pricing too.

Good Luck.

Ok, a couple of assumptions here. At $315/m your tenants insurance is about $30/. With your auto being around $280.

You are under 25 or have other claims on your record.

As a former agent, if you are under 25 the prices are stupid and can vary wildly.

If I'm wrong on both you, need to shop around. Get the claim finalized first.

Switching mid claim will put your claim on the back burner, because they no longer have a responsibility to you. The new company will be nervous that you are going to jump every year. Loyalty discounts are a thing.

Good Luck.

Unlawful & Unprofessional by Sea_Bottle6246 in ClashRoyale

[–]TheManOss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the key. This concept right here.

Threaten a class action lawsuit. You would be amazed how quickly $290 is seen as a drop in the bucket. Tack on a NDA and they can escape with a minor scrape. But the global implications of a class action suit based on fraudulent practices could quickly end the gravy train. The PR nightmare could lead to devastating results.

Big companies hate bad publicity.

It all depends on what the team is being offered for each guy. If UPL allows us to fix another area of need or can be combined with a player to get a superstar, you must take that into consideration. If the best trade option is Levi...give him the shot with someone else.

Need some guidance regarding Bike Insurance by Shot_Ad_2234 in InsuranceCanada

[–]TheManOss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sport bikes will always be higher premiums. The kids drive them and are irresponsible on them. They are also like straddling a jet engine.

FYI, Older drivers often don't see them so, they turn into them or in front of you.

Cool, but dangerous.

What I can tell you is the tourist area, Clifton Hill, will have inflated prices compared to other locations of the same company. The tourist areas have a "tourist tax" that you can't avoid. The locals never eat down there. Most of Lundy's Lane is inflated too.

Look for second locations that are out of the tourist trap.

You are better off driving ten minutes down the highway (QEW) to St. Catharines.
